Should we mourn for the dead in wars??

Well certain warrior cultures had chose a different approach. Rather than mourning their dead they honored them. For example the Norse instead of mourning their dead they held feasts for them to honor their courageous feats in battle.

I don't agree with the first half of the quote, but I agree with the second part, so I'm literally split down the middle.

I mourn their loss for the potential that they had in life; I feel sad knowing that their lives were cut tragically short.

However, I am against wars and conflicts on such a large scale. We must realize that we are all human in the end. We see each other as being divided by nationality, religion, political party, etc. which keep us separate.

Wars and the battles that constitute them are some of the most evil events that occur amongst our species. The day that all wars end and we never pick up another weapon to harm another human being will be the day that humans will have finally matured as a collective whole.
