  1. No, studies fine that it is not that people cannot pay for it, it is that they chose not to. If their employer does not provide any, it is highly unlikely they will seek it out independently, rather, they use that money in some other way.

Additionally, those who truly cannot afford it are allotted many city programs that offer insurance - it is a matter of seeking them out and signing-up for them.

It's always best for society not to rely on government to do anything. With reasonable efforts, we can make our own way.

  2. Well let's think about this for a moment.  If we had such a system it would cost about as much as now, but the government would pay rather than companies and individuals.  This would require a tax increase.  Now I don't know what you consider "real care" since many who get medicaid and medicare consider it real.  So no we don't need a system like this.  It really does not work that well in Canada or England, and in England its costs are kept low by having a lot of foreign doctors who earn much less than ours do.

  3. I see nothing wrong with a National Health Care system.  There are many who are out of work, cannot find jobs that offer health care any longer & people who cannot afford to pay for a Doctor visit at $72 for 6 min. of time.  Many cannot afford the medication that a Doctor prescribes, unless they go without something else important to the quality of health.  I'm a little tired of taking my Mom to the Hospital only to find the waiting rooms filled with poor people & the wait can last up to 2/3 hours before you can even get into a room where you can wait some more!  Don't get me wrong, I think that these people should receive help, but if we had a National Health care program, perhaps they would go to a Doctor & not be filling up the hospital emergency rooms.  Children are not receiving health care or innoculations when they are needed, this is just wrong!  What am I doing in the hospital emergency room, you ask, well my Mom is 95 yrs. old & won't go to a Doctor until it becomes an emergency!  She has civil rights so I can't make her do anything, that's why I end up in good old St. Joe's emergency room!  It seems that so many people resent having to help their fellow person, they can afford to pay for insurance, have it where they work, (for the time being) & seem to think that all poor people just want a hand out & everything given to them.  I don't feel that way at all.  I feel that if a person is given a chance of paying their own way in life, they will jump at the chance!  I don't believe that anyone likes being made to feel like a leach on society!

  4. Ask the democrasses. They turned down every bill put out there for healthcare reform including your buddy bama bin ladin

  5. Sort of works in Britain. I was thinking of moving the US but one thing puts me off is the health costs of insurance and even if my family could really put in a claim if needed (see film The Rainmaker, for example).

  6. No, Health-care is not a right, it is something earned. If you keep giving things away for free, like housing, education and food, people lose incentive. It's called 'hand-outs," and that's how you treat a pet, not a human. Now if a person is truly unable to work, that is a different story. Such cases are rare.

  7. I REPLY THIS WAY. WHAT IF YOU, YOUR MOTHER, YOUR FATHER, OR YOUR ONLY CHILD WERE GRIEVOUSLY ILL AND YOU COULDN'T AFFORD CARE FOR THEM, WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW YOU COULD FIND ADEQUATE HELP FOR THEM. ALL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH THE BEST THAT IS AVAILABLE. ANYTHING LESS IS BARBARIC AND VERY MUCH UNGODLY.

  8. works for us in britain

  9. No it is not working up north nor over the pond they well try and tell you how great it is and that it is free to them but it's not

  10. we should NOT, it is just another step closer to a socialist government. why should we help the people that can't or won't help themselves?

  11. I think it's a great idea. Some people get the idea that EVERY person qualifies for medicaid and medicare. not so. Medicaid is only for those who have absolutely nothing and medicare is for disabled/retired and trust me, it's anything but adequate. it's ok. but it still has a long way to go to be adequate. Medicaid /medicare only covers certain things. it doesn't cover dental. It doesnt' cover some medically needed services. In my state, Medicaid covers 12 MD visits a year. that's it. if you need more than that. you are on your own. (that's all MD's, primary care, specialist, counseling, ).

People in "middle class" that don't make enough to get assistance and still don't make enough for insurance get totally left out. People love to say "it's not our fault, they choose to work at some place that doesn't offer insurance". How many employers still offer insurance? they want to say "our taxes should not have to pay because they chose not to go to college and better themselves".. ok. who do you know that cannot afford health insurance that can afford to go to college without taking out tons of student loans they can't repay. I have no problem with paying a few extra taxes to know that if I need the help it's there. I know someone who's daugher has cancer. They have no insurance at all but he's middle class so he's responsible for every dime of that bill..so far in 2 years in the millions of dollars.

  12. i agree with lisa, more affordable healthcare is a good idea, but not national healthcare.  that would put an even heavier burden on middle class America to cover those who would be benefitting from national healthcare by way of their tax dollars.  money for a national healthcare program would not just spout from the ground, the people of america would be paying for it anyways, so why not just work towards more affordable healthcare?

  13. No, I don't think we should have a National Health System.  I think something should be done to make health care more affordable but I don't think the government should control it.  Look at the nightmare senior citizens are having with the government prescription program.
