Should we persue a lawsuit?

My wife and I are overweight, my wife went to a back doctor for back pain who humiliated her, would only discuss weight loss surgery and never examined her back (didnt look at or touch it). When asked for a manger was sent a nurse manager who went back into losing weight. Then called her at home to tell her she was worried about her so they called her primary care facility, and then after my wife told her she was lucky she was not the type of person to take this action to heart, that someone else (with no self esteem etc) would have likely went home from this experience and contimplated suicide (said this to make a point) they called the cops, didnt give a name, and the police report says my wife was upset about her weight so she said she may kill herself".

Do we have a lawfuit for discrimination and harassment, and if so, how do we find a lawyer?

THANKS!

  1. Your wife received shoddy treatment, but the treatment does not rise to the level of malpractice.  What's more, the call to the cops does not rise to the level of a false claim or anything like that.

If you were to sue, there would be endless to dispute about what was said, what deserved to be said, etc.   In the end, it's unlikely that you would persuade a jury to award damages to you because you didn't suffer direct financial or physical harm as a result of the doctor's or nurse's actions.

You picked a crummy doctor.  Find another one.

  2. Nope.  There is no law against people being mean.

    Find another doctor.
