Should we protect women from marketing guys and product manufactures?

We should protect ourselves, and especially our children, from "marketing guys" (quite a few of whom are actually women). They are pond scum.

Of course the only adequate protection is teaching people to be engaged, critical thinkers who don't spend significant amounts of their free time watching the idiot tube. And that kind of education seems frankly beyond us as a species at this point.
