Should we really believe our president ..?

I have friend from Russia , and I can tell you from a personal point of view I believe Russia is right in what they did ..What i don't understand is why our own twisted government insists on filling us with lies , about the facts .Russia did not invade Georgia ,Georgia attacked first . Russia simply responded by protecting their territory. Please tell me am I right or wrong ..

South Ossetia is not Russian territory.  It is a breakaway region from Georgia that Georgia still considers part of their nation.  Most Ossetians support Russia and Russia has recognized them in their break from Georgia-but they are not a part of Russia-at least not yet.

I doubt our president could find Georgia (the other one - not the US state) on a map that only had Georgia on it.

This Russia, Georgia thing needs to settle a while before who did what to who can be sorted out.

I have very little confidence in George Bush. I can, however read a map! How you can have the audacity to claim that Georgia attacked the Russians is beyond me. Those two territories are within the geographical confines of the State of Georgia. It would not be possible for ground forces from Russia to be in those locations without first invading sovereign territory. They are "Disputed", not Russian territory by LAW. Both sides agreed to this by treaty. Facts are facts.

Your friend is only passing along what his government wants him to know.  If you believe a Russian thinking they are getting the straight scoop from their government then you are beyond naive.

Our Government Lies and His Government Lies.  It's the sad reality of the world we live in.  You can only trust what you can see... And even then you can't trust that.
