  1. I feel like it's not up to me to forgive someone unless they've done something directly to me.  So, for example, forgiving the guy who shot up some convenience store on the other side of the world has nothing to do with me.  As far as personal situations, if they show no remorse, to what purpose would you forgive them?  To make yourself feel better?  It wouldn't make me feel better at all.

  2. Forgiveness is for our own benefit. We forgive to not carry the ill feelings of others transgressions. If another is not remorseful of their actions or inactions that is their baggage to carry. If we harbor the anger or sadness of their transgressions we carry those negative feelings with us which is harmful to ourselves.

Of course we stay away from people who transgress without remorse not giving them the chance to bring or do further harm.

  3. When it comes to forgiveness, I try to follow the words of the Apostle Paul, who admonished all followers of Jesus Christ to forgive each other, just as God in Christ has forgiven us.  However, that doesn't mean that people who show no remorse should not face the consequences for their actions.  That applies to people who DO show remorse as well -- if you s***w up, you own up and take the responsibility.

  4. forgiveness should only be granted to those who seek it.

  5. We probably should just to make them feel 1 inch tall, to me forgiving someone with no remorse is basically saying "I am forgiving you because I am a better person than you"! if your a spiritual person then I am sure it's because that is what God would want you to do to free yourself from the misery of it all and move on, maybe even turn that person into a very remorseful person, possibly make them turn to God.
