  1. I think if you don't want any confusion on how to pronounce it then I would spell it like Leiya. I presonally don't like that spelling, but whenever it's spelt Leah, people always are trying to see if it's Lee-uh or Lay-uh. You could go with Leah and tell people how to pronounce it though.

  2. Leah, what a beautiful name! What is her middle name going to be?

  3. Leah is lee-uh, Leiya would probably be lay-uh but it should be spelled Leia, it looks weird with the y.

  4. If you plan on pronouncing your daughter's name as Lay-uh, I suggest you spell her name as Leiya. The traditional pronounciation of Leah, is lee-ah or lee-uh. Leiya sounds and looks beautiful, congratulations and the best of luck :)

  5. To me, Leah is pronounced "Lee-uh".

Leiya, to me, is pronounced, "Lay-yuh".

I vote Leiya if you want it pronounced that way.

    Also:

    Laya

    Layah

    Leia

  6. If you want your child to never hear the end of Star wars from her friends remember kids can be cruel.

  7. leiya looks better in my opinion.

  8. Leiya more unique CONGRATULATIONS that is so awesome i bet you will be a great mom

  9. Leia would be the most understood way of spelling "Lay-uh", thanks to Star Wars. If you're going to name your child "Lay-uh", I honestly wouldn't go with either spelling you have there.

Leah will be Lee-uh and Leiya would be Lay-yah.  The latter is, of course, closer to Lay-uh, but I think the middle "y" would be pronounced more than you'd like it to be!

    Good luck, though.

  10. I am qualified to answer this, since my name is Leah.

It would have to be spelled Leiya, because Leah is pronounced Lee-Yuh.

    Star Wars fan?

  11. No to Leah  b/c that's usually pronounced Lee-AH

    Leiya would probably be better.

  12. If that's how it's pronounced, I would go with Leiya. If you spell it Leah, she will always be correcting people. She will get called Lee-uh.

I love that name, it's pretty and unique.

    Congrads!

  13. Laya or Leigha might work.

  14. I'm going with Leiya. If you spell her name Leah, most people will pronounce it Lee-uh rather than Lay-uh. Good luck!

  15. The correct spelling for 'lay-uh' is Leia.  If you go with Leiya, everyone will misspell it-- you'd constantly need to say "Leia, with a y".  The y is unnecessary if you're trying to get the lay-uh pronunciation.

Very pretty!  And congrats on your new daughter.

  16. As in Princess Laia? I would spell it Leiya or Leya, since Leah will be pronounced Lee-uh.

  17. Leiya is the better name for it.

  18. Leiya, of the two choices. Leah is traditionally pronounced Lee-uh and that is what your daughter will get called over and over again.

  19. If you want it pronounced as Lay-uh, go with Leiya. It is a unique spelling and looks very pretty. Leah is usually said as Lee-ah, so if you spelt it Leiya, it may not be incorrectly pronounced as much.
