  1. it depends if we actually can and if we fully understand the cause of global warming. global warming might be the natural way the earth deals with itself. what i mean to say is that global warming can be caused by a number of different things and if we can't fully understand it, it might be a loss for us to actually change it.

but definitely, there is no wrong in trying to fix the problem because well, the outcome if we don't is death so we might as well fight for our lives on this planet.

  2. yes of course because we live on this planet so we need to take care of it and stop global warming whether its not our fault.

  3. Yes. Global warming is something that is a world- wide problem and if it isn't caused by humans it's still an issue either way.

  4. Human arrogance says "yes".  So do most Yahoo Answers posters.

  5. What scientists are afraid of is that the average global temperature will rise more than 2 degrees Celsius above today (or pre-industrial temperature depending on who to listen to).

If the current warming is natural, then this will probably not happen so the only thing possible to do is trying to adapt. If on the other hand the greenhouse gas theory IS valid, then the temperatures could rise more than 6 degrees Celsius if we continue without changing the way we do things. This would mean HUGE problems for most things and people on earth.

So to answer your question: No, if this warming is natural we probably can't and don't need to do much about it.

  6. We should all take part of the responsibility of  taking care of our environment. Studies shows that human is one of the culprit for global warming. But hypothetically if it is not cause by humans, it is still imperative for us to find ways to at least delay or much better stop global warming.

We are dependent to the resources of earth. And the possibility of living in another planet is still an advance science. Cooling Mars is one h**l of a job! Adapting with the global change, planting trees, mitigating pollution is much more possible.

  7. Absolutely!  The cause is definitely humans though.....no doubt about it.

  8. We can try. The cause can't be anything other than the human, since the idiots in white lab coats claim there are no other "civilized and advanced" race of animals in the Solar System to emit the about 20 billion pounds of carbon dioxide.

  9. Where is your proof that mere mortal humans cannot affect the atmosphere? Perhaps you are way too young to remember when gasoline had lead in it.   The lead levels in babies has fallen to zero, now that lead is banned from gas.  Now we have to reduce our CO2 emissions. This has nothing to do with anybody's god, or any politician!

  10. Yes.

We try to limit the effects of (or stop, if we can) all kinds of natural disasters - from predation, earthquakes, floods, drought, coastal erosion, disease outbreaks, etc. why is global warming any different?
