This way we will save also much water, because if it's cold we do it very quickly.

  1. thats a good idea

  2. I recently stayed in a cabin that was off the grid and took one of the coldest showers I've ever had!  Oh yea, it was shorter all right!

A better idea is a timer. We stayed at a campground last year and only had 10 minutes of water for two of us.  You get real organized when you know your water might run out any second.

  3. Depends;  I used to live in Phoenix, AZ and a cold shower after work didn't bother me a bit.

You can save on fuel by making sure at least the first three feet of your water pipe from the hot water heater is securely wrapped.

As to water, consider a 'hold' handle, puts the water on 'hold' interrupts the flow, while you soap up.  Saves on the water.

    Short showers, in and out.

  4. Sure, it would save energy.  Just depends how far you want to take it.  Using the same thinking, you should also eat all raw foods to save on cooking gas or electricity.  Ride a bike or walk to save gas.  All these things will work... but do YOU want to live this way?  Most people do not.  The key is to be sensible and try to conserve where possible.  And this doesn't mean you have to let 5 days of urine accumulate in your toilets before flushing like some environmental nut cases suggest.  Barf.

  5. How about we all get tank less water heaters, shower heads that don't waste so much water and limit the time in the shower.

Another real big thing everybody could do is buy a twin tub washing machine. They used to have a lot of them back in the 70's where the wash and spin tubs are separate. This way you can use the same water for two to three loads. We have one and it saves a lot. But cold showers? NO!

  6. slightly warm and short

  7. we could shower together to save water

  8. it doesnt matter what kind of showers it matters how long u take ur showers

  9. No, we take them when the woman gets us all worked up and then finds something else to do.

  10. actually if I have a cold shower, first my body will need few minutes to adjust to the cold water and when I'm okay with the cold water, then I can shower normally like if the water would be warm. I know its risky but I never get sick. and what can I do when there's no warm water?

  11. You must kidding right. Go ahead and take your cold showers, I'm taking nice long hot showers and I'm going to enjoy life.

  12. yes, cold showers do save energy cause your not using your water heater, but that doesn't have anything to do with saving water. just don't waste time under hot water if you want to save energy. cold showers probably isn't the best for your health either.....

the most water the average person "wastes" actually comes from flushing toilets. not saying to use the bathroom less often but......

  13. if u want to save money

but here is a phrase for saving water

if it's yellow let it mellow

if it's brown flush it down

    haha

  14. taking a cold shower doesn't kill as many  germs on your body as warm water and you don't get as clean.
