  1. Yes but i feel the man should be the head of the house it's old school. Teach him to respect and how to be a man so he can be the man of his house someday. To many girly boys out in the world who stay home when they need to be men and provid for family now thats respect.

  2. Yes! Because if you dont teach him then he wont respect women. The only explanation is; if you dont he wont.

Why would you not teach him that!? What kind of parent would you be!?

  3. Respect, like trust ( IS EARNED ) not just randomly granted because mommy said so.

  4. Respect of others is vital to humanity.  If half the population is raised to believe that the other half is unworthy of respect, our civilisation is doomed.

Men should not be taught to respect women because they're women.  They should be taught to respect women because they're human.

  5. We should teach all children to respect everyone unless they have given us a logical reason not to do so.

  6. I believe in order to give respect, you must first respect yourself.  Most people who disrespect anyone regardless of gender unless given a real reason needs to look inside.  Respect should be taught to everyone for everyone and should be demonstrated by everyone.

  7. Yes, but teaching is just the tip of the iceberg.  Young children learn by watching and observing those they see as role models.  If their father or other male figures respect women, then they will understand that they should too.  Young ones don't understand the 'do as I say, not as I do' thing.

Children are very smart, and if they see a lack of respect from an adult towards anyone, women, people of other cultures, or races, ect. then they will think it's okay.

  8. I would teach him to respect everyone.

  9. of course, if you don't, they will most likely be alone forever because no woman will put up with that.

  10. I think you should. You should treat BOTH your sons and daughters to respect the opposite s*x.

  11. I think it's sad that you even have to ask that. Of course you should teach your sons to respect women! Women are amazing!

If your sons don't respect women, then they'll just be jerks. Women are beautiful, smart, interesting, AMAZING, and more! "Real men" respect women.

  12. Yes. But they should respect women as human beings. All people deserve respect, don't they? I see respect as meaning consideration.

Women also give birth, which is no easy thing as I understand it. But just because women can, shouldn't make them entitled to receive respect over another human being simply because not all women choose to have children. This is a very good question. I'm sure it's been asked before. It seems like one where you think you know the answer but as you think more about it, it seems likely to change. For me, it did.

edit: There are some women that don't have respect for themselves because of unhealthy low self-esteem. I heard a story from a woman on the radio about a young woman that is struggling. She slept with a guy because he was the only one that showed interest and didn't think it would happen again. She's obese. It is really hard for women. There is a lot of pressure. Why is there only one acceptable standard for women? It seems that all women are compared to that.

  13. My same answer applies here as to your other question relating to this subject! We should teach our children to respect others and treat others the way they want to be treated! No gender issues as this rule applies to all no matter which gender, race, sexual orientation etc etc

  14. Absolutely. Actually, they should be taught to respect everyone.

  15. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Why wouldn't a woman deserve your respect?

  16. Yes. Sadly there are alot of children/men out there who don't respect women, so it will help immensely if they start at a young age, not to be big headed.

  17. Again- we should be teaching our children to respect everyone, regardless of gender.
