Producing corn for ethanol and biofuels, instead of using the land to produce food drives up food prices at the supermarket? Is this smart?

  1. no, biofuels right now are RUBBISH!!!

    theyre inefficient and costly.

they need more research before people commit anything to their use.

  2. No its retarded and i want people to wake up and smell the petroleum. Enough with ethanol, its raising the price of corn and with that it raises the price of everything else. Lets get to the basics and we need to start drilling for petroleum in the US, West coast and Alaska. Enough with tree huggers. while we are sleeping, other countries are kicking our butts. I guess there won't be any 5 corn for a dollar this summer at the supermarket.

  3. No, we should not use our land to produce biofuels. It should be used to feed the people and we should have a serious look at another totally new source of energy. We should also put a stop on the big oil companys for blocking this reseaerch.

  4. The problem we have at the moment is that the "Hedge Fund" managers and big investors are buying up the stocks of corn, well aware of the fact that it is needed for bio fuel production.

Now these people, who dont give a toss about the ecology are only buying it for the cash benefit.

The more we grow, the more they buy, it sort of supports the argument that there is no ecology problem and the whole thing was a scam to make money.
