Should we vacation in Jamaica or Aruba?

Question

My family and I are planning a vacation in December or January and we can't decide between Jamaica or Aruba. We've been to the Bahamas but want to go to a new island deeper in the carrib. My sister and I are in our early twenties and the parents are fifties.

We like:

Nightlife, clear water beaches, lots of shopping, music, entertainment, lots of people, huge and beautiful resort hotels, safety, swimming pools,good food, younger crowd.

Where should we go?

Aruba is much more safe than Jamaica ( Jamaica has quite a bit of violence)

Jamaica ! Don't listen to the people who say Jamaica is not safe. They don't even know Jamaica. Never even been there !

Exciting things to do in Jamaica :

Ochio Rios

Dunns River Falls ( most famous water fall )

Dolphin Cove ( swim with dolphins )

Negril

Party scene , lots of partying going on here. Beautiful white sand beaches ! Sandals Resort Negril. You can go cliff diving, wake boarding, massages on the beach, swimming pools, music, dancing, parties,exotic food..etc. It's very fun !

Jamaica is very beautiful and safe ! People are very friendly and you will love it. You have to experience Jamaica !

If you really would like to go out and experience a safe night life i would choose for Aruba it has every thing you are looking for. Even your parents will love it. I am from Aruba my self so if you have any questions let me know.

THEY ARE BOTH BEAUTIFUL. ARUBA IS A LIL MORE EXPENSIVE THAN JAMAICA.  I WOULD DO ARUBA. JAMAICA IS NICE THO.

Aruba.

Jamaica, you really need to stay at the resort because it's not safe.

Aruba: You can leave the resort without too much concern.

I've been to both islands.

Jamaica

Jamaica is an island of paradise. Enjoyed by endless amounts of tourists every year.

Jamaica is only violent if you are planning to walk around the ghettos of down town kingston like a tourist intmidating the locals.

Overwise you will be fine like all the other thousands of tourists there.
