Should weed be legal?

Its not as bad as alcohol or cigarettes, so wats the freaking deal! Can ppl tell me their opinions on this issue?

It should be. I have nothing more to say because it is a complicated issue and there is far too much disagreement.

One thing i do strongly believe is that everyone should be aware of the truth and history of it. There is plenty deception in everything and it IS NOT as harmful as some people claim.

Here in Canada they've decriminalised small amounts of pot; personally I haven't seen a problem since this decision came down; it lets our police focus on violent crime and crimes that have victims; a couple kids smoking a joint (assuming they don't drive while intoxicated which should be severely punished) is not a big issue.

Really? It's not as bad as cigarettes??? I'm pretty sure cigs don't impare you're driving or decision making skills brainiac. Not that I support smoking, but pot impairs you. Alcohol does also- if you let it. Why let more PROBLEMS become legal?

The last thing you want is it to be legal.  The government will take it over, regulate it, tax it and distribute it.  It'll be worse than the taxes on cigarettes.

Personally, I don't care what people do.  You hardly ever hear of pot causing the accidents and deaths that alcohol does.

Its better as it had been coz when it's legalized you're encouraging everyone to take the weed. I onced used it and it did good coz it improved my appetite but too much, it created hallucinations. I preferred drinking beer instead.

the only reason weed isn't legal is because our stupid government hasn't figured out how to regulate it and get their fair share of taxes from it, if they figure that out it'll be legal in no time, the people that think it's awful have never tried it

Yes it should be legalised... people who take weed are very reasonable.. if they do a wrong, it is for a right reason.

It should be legalized but isn't (in the U.S.) because politicians (unless they're from Berkeley, CA) know it's political suicide to raise the issue.

N.B. I support legalization  because keeping it criminalized creates an underground economy with attendant violence, disrespect for the law, and *loss of tax revenue*! Think how much more money state and local governments would have if instead of spending *most* of their resources dealing with drug offenders they were getting a percentage of the tax monies derived from them.

P.S. The Netherlands has a lower rate of drug use (and abuse) than the U.S.
