Unless you are doing it to protect or warn them, no one should yell at them for no good reason.  It doesn't mean it won't happen though.  Both mothers and fathers make mistakes.

children have only been on this planet for a short while and need discipline, the parent or parents are the ones who do this... they also need to be taught what is right and wrong. If you see a situation where a parent yells, you shouldn't automatically judge, you have no idea what that child did wrong. let me ask you a question... should ignorant people be allowed to post questions on YA?

ofcourse women should be allowed to yell at children. it's the woman that is spending most of the time with the child. she should only be allowed to raise them in the manner that she pleases.

Yelling is a natural reaction, to anger or fear .. anybody should be allowed to yell at their children regardless if its the mother or father.. but i dont think you should yell at other peoples children within reason.  Kids however dont really respond to yelling, it makes them scared more than anything and you dont want your children to fear you.. but as they get older they also learn to ignore it and yelling means nothing to them..  i always feel bad when i yell at my son for something stupid.. but my mom was a yeller so i sometimes slip... not as much as her though..

Allowed?  Hey, it happens, but it should be something that said women should regret doing if it is done needlessly.

Yelling at them only de-sensatizes the children to her.  Whoever corrects them in a quiet voice is likely to get more response...  but what can you hear across a playground?

Anyway, I've heard MEN yell as much at their children as women.  It's not just a gender issue, and people have tried for years to control how others raise children...

I heard someone say once that it's a moment of parental (note: could be either parent here :)) divinity when you actually take a quick time out and count to 10 instead of having to yell in anger! Sure if it's an emergency or you're warning them, it's a different story...
