Should women be banned from public golf courses, if they cant shoot under 100?

yes i will expand it to include men, in japan you have to have a handicap lower than 16 to play, not a bad rule really.

I suppose there are those people that have never shot over 100 (on some other planet). The game is for enjoyment and that goes for men and women. I have played with plenty of women that play very well and I would bet that everyone of them started out shooting 100+.

Your ban does not make any sense.

Maybe at elite championship courses, but at regular public courses that would eliminate most of the everyday golfers, me included.  So what if it takes 4 hours to finish 18 holes because there's a slow group in front.  Have fun with your group like we do.  Just be ready to duck when you hear someone yell "FORE" or amateurs may just yell "watch out!"  Happy golfing!

Why don't you just go get yourself a private country club membership and leave the public courses alone.

The USGA reports that the AVERAGE legitimate score for men is 100 (note that this means playing by ALL the rules). That means that half the current people on the course would be banned.

A lot of people have overestimated their golfing abilities. The average drive of a male golfers is just 192 yards.

The best thing that could be done to speed things up is to insist that people play from the correct tees.

I agree with a few others... men should be included with women.  

However, if they started banning everybody who had a handicap over 16 from all public courses, there would be a lot of closures of public courses.

You would never be able to get new people to start playing,  because they would be banned after their first two rounds.   Less than 10% of all golfers have a handicap of below 16.  If you are talking a 18 hole handicap.

women who shoot 100 for eighteen holes , do play the round in less time than a male would . they hit it straighter , more curtious , better etiquette , more respect for the course , which means more repect for the game . no temper tantrums , respect the employes of the course . show curtosisy in the clubhouse . if a male who shoots over 100 . they should be banned for slow play , if the men dont go the women dont go . if they both go then green fees go up by the percentage of people that are banned . also how can any person male or female improve with no place to play . take your game against any lpga player . loser leaves golf no handicap straight up . or match play , be prepared for a walk from 11 tee box back to clubhouse . there is a parapalegic who plays out of a special made cart that lifts his body to hit a shot he cannot break 100 never will walk again , never will leave a wheelchair do you want to tell him he cant play . if you dont like the pace of play on public courses . join a private one , there is only one problem with your attitude you will soon be playing alone  thank you
