Question:

Should women have the free choice to have an abortion?

This is the same as asking: Should women have the free choice to murder babies?

Why do people think abortions are an issue of women's free choice? Choice in the US is not a guarantee, you cannot choose to do something that violates anyone's human rights. Having a baby executed, even before birth, should probably be seen as violating human rights, no?? Or are babies not part of the human race anymore?

  1. You'll be happy to hear that not only SHOULD women have that right, but because neonates aren't self aware until well into their second year.  They can make the decision to kill their children up until the age of 2 1/2yrs.

  2. Yes, I believe we do.

Only because it is our choice.

Not saying it is the right choice.

But for some, Maybe they just dont want to go through 9 months of pregnancy.

  3. Very true, they are part of the human race.

I would like to add that: location, determines whether a human can be killed or not. Moved the unborn child  5 inches, i.e. out of the womb and he or she cannot be killed. Well legally anyway.

  4. Every day a woman carries a baby she is saving  the life of   baby that can not survive without her, and it is not murder   to not forgo your wants to preserve someones life. There are millions of children that die every year because we do not give up our good life style to provide what they need to live, and it is not called murder. It is not murder  if you do not jump in a river to save a drowning person, or to walk by a homeless person freezing to death on a sidewalk. All of the actions are not up to the standard morality that we hope we have, but they are not murder.

  5. First of all, it is not a baby it is a FETUS.

Second of all, it is parasitic to the woman carrying the fetus.

Meaning, the fetus has to suck up all the nutrients to live.

And about human rights, do women have no rights?

If we get pregnant we automatically HAVE to give birth because the embryo has more rights then a living, breathing human?

Men cannot fathom abortion because they're not the ones that have to carry the fetus to full term, go into labor for who knows how long and push it out for agonizing pain.

Birth is the single, most painful thing in the world{so experts say}.

  6. I think the answer to this question is really determined by the answer to the question "when does a fertilized egg become human?"  Personally, I don't think it's human until there is neural activity (somewhere around 6 months).  In the UK, abortions are only allowed up to the point where the baby would be able to survive outside the womb which seems sensible.  By that stage, if a woman hasn't made up her mind to terminate she's a bit behind the game.  However, choice is guaranteed by the right to privacy (i.e. the right to make private decistions).  Until there is evidence that the little ball of cells with *no* brain activity somehow feels anything or has a self, then its not murder.  If you don't like abortions, don't get one.  Since your name implies that you are male, I doubt this will be hard for you to avoid.

  7. I think a female has the choice of having s*x w/o birth control and risking pregnancy  or using birth control and not having pregnancy. Once there is a human being growing in her uterus.....she had no more choices, That baby has the right to live.  And not be murdered by it's mother.

I had an abortion, because I didn't think I could have one more baby, but I would give anything if I had made a different choice.  It is still deeply painful to realiz what I did.  I regret it w/all my heart and soul. I am so sorry.
