Question:

Should you be nice to people even if they're not nice to you?

It's not in my nature to be nasty to anyone, I feel bad about it myself, even if it hasn't affected the other person. But there are some people who, no matter how nice you are to them, they'll be nasty anyway - it's just the way they are, it doesn't have anything to with you personally.

So what do you do about them? Be nice anyway so you feel good?

  1. Yes.  Apart from any moral/ethical decision, there is always the possiblity that if they are nasty people they would go out of their way to do something more unpleasant if you give them the idea.

  2. If he/she major times 10 not nice to me,I'm not gonna be nice to them.If minor I'm still nice with them.

  3. If you're in a job where you deal with customers, you have no choice but to always be nice.

Otherwise, why not just avoid them?  I have no need to be around unpleasant people who are rude & demeaning .

  4. I don't think you can go wrong with being the better person and being nice anyway. I believe in karma. Usually someone being nasty is a reflection of how they feel about themselves or their own unhappiness. They try to transfer that to other people because it doesn't feel good. Someone has to stop the cycle, right?
