Should you buy every book you read?

I love to read. I buy every book I read if I liked it. Is this wise to do, or should I save my money instead? The thing is that I don't really have any other items that I would want to spend money on. I'm undecided on what to do.

Nope:) You should read every book you buy that you think is interesting^^

You can always spend your money on newer clothes or better school supplies:D

This all depends on you. I don't buy every book I read sometimes I check out books at the library and sometimes I might borrow a book from someone but I like it enough to read it more than once than I will buy it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying books if that's what you love and it doesn't get in the way of buying more important things like food or paying bills. Hey if books are your obsession then that's great!

no, i only buy books i really like or if it's for summer reading because usually you can use those books for essays but it has to have theme to it.. (e.g. adventures of huckleberry finn) other than that i just go to the book store and read the book mainly cause it's expensive. you could keep that pocket money and save up for a new pair of jeans or something.

well it depends what kind books you like if you like classics you can usually find those cheap at library book sales, thrift stores those kind of places I've also found newer books too. i haven't even read all the books i have because i  pick ones up i find interesting or books i've read from the library. you can pay $15 for1 book or you can buy 20 books for the same price.

Absolutely not. Unless you're made of money. That's why we have libraries. There are also a lot of books on line, in their entirety. Usually I buy the books that I love enough to read several times or that I want to pass on to others to read, but I could never afford to buy them all.

I buy loads of books every month and have turned the dining room into a library!  I love going to buy books!  I read up to 5 a week so need loads!  I don't drink and smoke and don't go out every night so why shouldn't I spend some cash on what I enjoy most.  Thats what I like to do!

If you plan on reading the books again, then I would buy them. If not, I would just suggest checking them out from your local library. [:

If you have where to keep them, if you know who will get the books when you're gone, if you have money for it, then I don't see a reason why you should stop yourself.

I do i think it is better to do that because than you can do what you want with them if you like taking notes than you can. I am like you i love 2 read and books are like the only things i like 2 read.

Do you read your books over and over or are they just trophies on the shelf?  Save your money, some day you will have a use for it!  Use the LIBRARY! Most have services where you can order any book you want from other places if your local library does not have it in stock.  Keep reference books, and ones you would want to read again and again, and a few favorites.

Sadly, most books are not even an investment, when you see BOXES of books going for $1 at yard sales.

It is great that you are reading!  Pass your books on to others after you read them and share the joy of reading!

If you read a book and like it enough that you are going to want to read it again whenever you want, buying it is a perfectly sensible thing to do.

I actually love to read as well.  I have all my books in various locations all over my house and i love looking at all of them.  I have actually just been walking through my house and picked up a book that i had not read in years and had a re-read...its wonderful.  If you enjoy books then buy them:)  To me its like a collection...and most collectors keep their collections!
