  1. It didn't start out as a drink for atheletes....it replaces electrolytes in the body and is very good for dehydration...but drink plenty of water also.

  2. gatorade is good when you're sick, makes your stomach settle.

but when you are thirsty, i dont find it too hydrating.

    and no, its for everyone.

  3. no

  4. Just remember how much sugar you'll be cramming into your body too. If you're gonna drink gatorade, drink just as much plain ol water.

  5. I notice a great help when recovering from alcohol dehydration, but for sports, it seems to increase my thirst for water.

  6. When you are sick and having diarrhea you DO NOT want to drink sugary drinks. It will increase the diarrhea. If you are trying to hydrate it is supposed to be better than water because it replaces the electrolytes and this keeps your muscles from cramping etc...

  7. where i live we don't have gatorade, 7up is recommended for kids with an upset stomach

  8. no gatorade is not just athletes but it has legalized drugs(thats why athletes drink it give them a better performance) in it which makes it adictive. it helps with dehydration so drink when dehydrated but dont get addicted. but water is still the best thing

  9. lol gatorade will rehydrate anyone...

  10. gatorade has a lot of electrolytes...it gives your body energy

yes it's good for keeping you hydrated too

  11. I drink it during exams. I think it should be fine. But then again I don't know what the bad side of it is?

  12. well it has sugar which dehydrates u. so id just go for water

  13. yes its vary good for you!! it has electrolytes in it that makes your cells take in more water !!

keep drinking it and you will feel better

  14. Yes, it is good for people who have the potential to dehydrate.  If one is actually dehydrated they should be seen by a Dr.  and they will take over.  Children and the elderly should have gatorade handy as they are high risk for dehydration.

  15. No it's not, my niece got diarrhea so she was dehydrated for a few days and the doctor actually recommended gatorade so chug away! Nothing beats good ol' water though!

  16. Gatorate has sugar and is colored and has calories =P It's not bright to drink if you're seriously dry mouth, headache, dehydrated. Just lay down and drink water =P Let your body come together.

If you're playing sports and you're starting out with a ready fit body then add more to it that Gatorade has to offer.

  17. Gatorade is an energy drink, but there will never be anything better to hydrate you than water if you re dehydrated. Gatorade works because it has lots of sugar and similar things, than give yo a burst of energy. These are not good for you when you are sick so its best just to stick to water.

  18. gatorade is ok

but it makes you break out

    you should stick to water

  19. i dont see how a drink could be JUST for athletes, gatorade is one of my favorite things to drink, helps me before and after games and practice...and when im just thirsty doing nothing...good and rehydrating and getting you healthier

  20. Water is best for dehydration.

  21. Water is best, as already noted.

Anything else is a marketing con,

It was standard procedure to give flat coke to sick and dehydrated patients in Bermuda (and elsewhere, I presume) in the late 50's and early 60's when my mother  worked there(as a doctor).  It did wonders, apparently.

  22. drinking gatorade is good for you, regardless of your physique, it's more rehydrating than water due to a specifically and carefully selected combination of electrolytes.

do be careful though, there is such a thing as electrolyte poisoning. it doesn't actually hurt you permanently, or too badly you just feel like deep fried sh*t for like 2-3 hours, then  you pop out of it. It takes like a gallon of gatorade/hour for you to get electrolyte poisoning from it too.

    -- edit --

huh, reading the comments there's one thing that really needs to be addressed, there's no addictive chemical in gatorade, you should punch whoever told you such lies.

gatorade has such little sugar it's barely worth mentioning, and there's little to no adverse effect due to the amount of sugar, it's very good for you when you've got diarrhea as it replenishes the nutrients and what have you that diarrhea... squirts out. >.<

it DOES actually rehydrate better than water by replacing electrolytes otherwise excreted out much quicker than eating the required product and allowing it to go through the digestion roll-o-coaster.  though as mentioned before it's advisable to continue drinking water as otherwise you'll suffer from electrolyte poisoning(SUCKS BAD)

  23. yeah, it replaces important chemicals and stuff in your body quicker so you can stay hydrated or get rehydrated
