Question:

Should you eat after running even if you're not hungry?

I ate breakfast (a small bowl of muesli and an apple with peanut butter) about two hours before an about half-hour run. I'm not hungry, but I know I need to eat to replenish my body (or whatever).

Should I eat, even though I'm not hungry?

  1. Eat foods with high source of protein. After a work out, its critical that your muscles are hungry, If you dont feed it, it will feed itself with your other muscles. Protein rebuilds muscle tissue and burns fat.

  2. Since you ate Before your run supplying your muscles with the carbs needed for energy and are making sure you are staying hydrated then you do not need to eat right after your run especially if you are trying to lose,if you are trying to gain or maintain a healthy weight then allow your body at least a half an hour of cool-off time while drinking your water to maintain temp and hydration...then eat a little something high in protein to feed muscle.

  3. Should eat some type of protein, have any almonds, they are good for you and have enough protein to sustain you until lunch.  The protein is important.

  4. You should always eat before of energy.

Your body will probably just burn away the substance you eat so only if you want a certain taste in your mouth for the h**l of it.
