  1. Yes, you get more money and respect as an officer, but you also have a lot more responsibility, which you may or may not want.  Keep in mind that a degree does not automatically qualify you to become an officer, although all officers are required to have a degree.  There are a number of enlisted jobs that require specific college degrees.  Off the top of my head, I think there are several jobs that require degrees in mathematics.  Talk to an Army recruiter about your options.

  2. as a former enlisted man, go officer

  3. Officers make more money, this is true--but they also have more responsibilities...they have soldiers under them for whom they are responsible...

Officers DO make more money, have better housing, get treated better in many situations.

I suppose it is a trade-off that boils down to this:  the higher your rank, the more YOU get to tell OTHERS what to do!

Do you want to lead, or follow?

  4. Depends on what YOU want to do.

    Be a thinker

    OR

    Be a doer............

  5. Dont enlist, you are practically selling your body and soul to the devil....Army will govern your life and force you to go and fight.

  6. well enlisted is good but ur dad is right officers get paid very well but it's up to you wat u want to do but wat I do is go enlisted then sign up for rotc if u don't like being enlisted get more respect that way

  7. Go Enlisted then if you don't like it become an officer it's easy to change once your in if you have a degree already then you get to try Both worlds and the Better officers were Enlisted at one time you get better respect from the Enlisted

  8. go officer if you have the degree better yet do Rotc

oh but enlisted isnt bad either

  9. Enlisted, we have enough officers. We need front line grunts.

  10. if you want to be an officer, my suggestion is go enlisted first, do that for 2 or 3 years at least then go either through rotc if you haven't finished college or go OCS, all of the best officers I've worked under spent some time enlisted, it gives you a little better insight, and yes you do get a lot more money especially if you spent time enlisted, starting pay is equal to 4 years in as an officer
