I really dont think you hit into a firm front leg this seems unnatural and restrictive. Should you have som knee flex going through obviously not to much but some? I think this may be right but really do not know for fact because I dont have video anylisis software to prove my question. If anybody knows about this give me some pointers or some views on this topic.

  1. It's far more important that you successfully shift your weight to your front side just before impact, than weather that front leg feels firm or not. It's an easier way to describe doing so, that's all. Everyones swing is different, whatever works for you is OK.

  2. Think About It -

Here's a swing sequence of Annika Sorenstam.

I picked her because she has shorts on and you can see her knees clearly....you'll notice that her legs maintain their bend throughout the swing.

Notice how when she begins her downswing she "sits" down into the shot. For a split second her knees have the exact same amount of flex and her back leg matches the flex of her front and you cannot see her front leg from our view directly behind her.

The is a KEY move to becoming a good ballstriker. This a Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan move....good players began to swing this way with the advent of steel shafts, and if you watch all the swing sequences on Golfdigest.com and the other girls on the golfforwomen.com site...you'll notice they all do it....

Practice this and it will make you a better player....

  3. to keep your distance to the ball equal, then your knees need to be at the same place as you were at address
