Question:

Should you pronate on a overhead smash?

I know you should pronate on a serve, but since a smash should almost be like service motion, should you pronate on it too? And should you "break your wrist" or bend your wrist on a service/smash? Cuz thats not what you're supposed to do on groundstrokes but is it okay on those two types?

  1. Yes for both questions. You're right its almost exactly like a serve.

  2. yea i think you should pronate on smashes and snap you wrist as well....cause just like on serve the whole point of pronating is to put some extra action on the ball it would help out with a smash too and really help it fly off the court.....snapping your wrist will help put velocity and angle on the ball just like when you serve...soo pretty much yea pronate and snap

  3. yes!! pronating will give you more power and make it harder for your opponent to return the ball

  4. Well, you should probably pronate your wrist on most, if not all, occasions, because the saying is 'treat your overhead like a serve', and it means pretty much what it says.
