  1. No you must not  remove them from the mum, until they are weaned this is at about 21 days, but are normally left with the mun until 4 week old. They will not survive without her. They will only eat or abandon them if they disturbed, once the eyes are open, you can start handling them. But leave them with mum for 4 week.

  2. It is quite normal for female hamsters to give birth and then kill their litter. They will do it if they sense something wrong with the babies, if you touch the babies or if she is freaked out by giving birth and does not know what they are or what to do. If you remove the babies after she gives birth, the babies will most likely not survive as it is very hard to hand feed baby hamsters.  Not every hamster will kill their litter, so your could be perfectly fine and will nurse them and care for them.  They can be removed from mom when they are about 8 weeks old and you see them eating and drinking on their own all the time and not nursing on mom.  Make sure that you do not touch the babies at all while they are with mom because if you do, she may kill them.

  3. No, genius.

    THEY NEED THE MOTHER'S MILK.

In fact, you moving them WILL kill them.

Jesus, you should have learnt this before you breed her!

You don't touch the babies, don't clean out the cage, don't stare at her, don't touch her, and she'll only eat the runts/sick ones as long as you follow that rule.

  4. You should not remove the babies from the mother until they are three weeks old. Until then, do not touch them since their scent would change and mommy hamster would get confused and kill them. Otherwise, the mama hamster will take all the care of her little ones.

The most important thing is to make the mother hamster happy and stressfree - give her lots of food and water, feed her lots of proteins. The following protein rich foods can be given to mother hamsters -

1.Bits of hard boiled egg (preferably only the white since white is rich in proteins and the yellow portion can be too fattening)

2.Skimmed milk (don't give full cream milk, fattening for the little hamsters)

3.Bits of cheese (plain cottage cheese, unsalted and unflavoured)

    4.Bread soaked in skimmed milk

The key is to keep the mother healthy and stress free so that she can go about her chore of baby caring without any other disturbances as overdue stress and illhealth seems to make the mother kill the babies.

You can try to touch them when they are 2 weeks or older provided mamma hamster is unbothered by it. If she looks bothered, refrain from doing so until the pups are three weeks old.

Between 3 weeks - 4 weeks, the pups can be weaned from the mother and can be caged separately. Also s*x the pups and separate the males and females into different cages since they are sexually mature from 5th week onwards.
