Yes, take your own gear.  That way you know it fits properly and is in good repair.

Lots of good snorkel/dive spots up and down the Keys.  Check the PADI website and pick a dive shop close to where you'll be snorkeling.

Where to buy?  Find a dive shop or swimming supply close to you.  That way, you know that your fins fit and your snorkel and mask are a style you like.
