  1. I'm so glad you're consideirng taking lessons: nothing compares to them. You'll learn much faster and progress further than just by teaching yourself.

I don't tip my guitar teacher. All I do is give him his monthly check.

  2. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo.... He or she charges you and that is good enough.

This is not like a restaurant. You pay for your courses and that's that.

  3. No

  4. Well, one of my friends made Regionals and started paying an extra few dollars for an hour. She only does it because he doesn't charge her that much and he helped her make one of the hardest bands in the state.

  5. i would guess not.  however, i am interested in how much everyone is paying for guitar lessons?  I know a bit, but feel like i'm missing something core.

  6. Yeah, I take classical bass lessons. I never even thought about that. My teacher sort of works that into his rates. Because you and your teacher hopefully talked about/negotiated prices it's not necessary to tip. :-) But as one who also teaches lessons I'm glad you asked.

  7. remember them at holiday time-a small christmas gift for example----but don't tip(unless you are ridiculously rich & they deserve more cash)
