  1. no. they didnt drive all the way to your house to deliver your food or you didnt sit in the resturant and they have to clean up. so no you do not tip.

  2. maybe if they are nice

  3. Its not necessary. If they were kind do them a favor! If you were a waiter/waitress would you like a tip if you went out of your way to help someone? Help them out if you can!

  4. I do, just because they prepared and got it ready for you..and if it was ready in a timely matter I would for sure.

  5. No, i think the business should be ashamed of themselves. The employer is responsible for paying those who work in house.

  6. I do. But only about 10%. They appreciate it and when you order out from the same place all the time, they will get to know you and treat you better for it.

  7. Yes. most defently.

  8. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. A lot of employers do not allow their employees to accept tips anyways.........

I tip at places like sonic....

  10. Yes. Even if it is just a dollar or 2. It won't break the bank, and it will totally make someone's day. Why not?

  11. I don't. The way that I see it, I am paying for the food, the tax on the food, and the gas to get the food. Therefore, the tip should go to me.

  12. nope

  13. yes..

  14. Whether or not you think you should or want to for whatever reason, proper eticate is 10-15%. Yes, this number floored me as well. I am a server who spends a minimum of 2 hours with EACH of my tables. The acceptable range for servers is 15-20% and I just did a h**l of a lot of work.

When looking up the proper amount to tip hairdressers, (which by the way is 10%) we found a list of all service personel. This is where this information came from.

Furthermore, if there is a "tip jar" tips are not required, but is it really going to hurt you go put your change in it?

  15. most of us don't but I have if I feel like I have been treated like a real guest.

  16. No way ..    Good Luck !   :)

  17. No definitely not.  And if you start it they will all expect.  So don't start it.

  18. Well i dont think that you should, i mean you went up there and got the food, you are already paying the food why tip, they really didnt give you any service.

  19. no

  20. holy h**l, i'm shocked at how many cheap people there are.  yes definately tip.  those people usually get paid minimum wage or less.. they still have to get all of your stuff together (it doesnt package itself.)  Unless its something extremely simple to get together .. like  pizza, or a sub... then i usually dont tip.. if they actually have to get your sides and your dressings.. condiments, bread.. ect.. then you should tip!

unless they are rude or unfriendly, i usually throw them a couple bucks..

shame on you people.. whats a few dollars extra gonna hurt?

  21. I asked this yesterday and the answer was 0 unless you get curb side service like with outback stake house or something like that

  22. I used to be a waitress at a restaurant and would get pissed if I didn't get tipped on a carry out. (almost always i did get tipped) When  a waitress/waiter takes a to go order they put in the order to the kitchen and package it for the customer and if their are any questions or alterations to the order they communicate this to the kitchen. In addition, when a waitress or waiter takes a to-go order they are taking away time from their tables where they are receiving tips to complete the to-go order. Lastly a waitress does not even make min-wage b/c they receive tips, the average hourly rate is about 4.10hrly so you really should tip and most servers expect people to tip them and if you don't your pissing off that server.

  23. I give $1-3 dollars, especially if the bartender gives you a free soda while you are waiting..

  24. Nah...but they still spit in your food so who cares...

  25. I always wonder about that.

If the person is super nice to me (friendly, joking, offering me free extra stuff like condiments), then I tip a dollar. But really I think tipping is just for waitstaff who are "serving you" food.

  26. YES!!!  It takes a lot of effort to get the whole order together!  It doesn't have to be 20%, but you always need to tip something!  People don't realize that if the servers were paid more than what they are, the price of food would sky rocket!  all of a sudden your $10 meal is $20 and your server (who is no longer working for tips) wouldn't care as much if you got eveything you needed in your bag!!

  27. Yes, of course.  15% is acceptable for carryout, whereas at LEAST 20% is expected for good service at a table.

Believe it or not, it takes a lot of work to get a carryout order ready.  We have to box your food, get any condiments you might want, hunt around for disposable silverware... the list goes on.

In addition... to-go orders take lots of valuable time away from your tables.  We only made $2.13/hr because it is EXPECTED that people tip.  Sad, isn't it?

  28. I never have.
