I have pcos and I'm very happy that my husband have been ttc since last year before I got any older (didn't know I had pcos until June of this year). I know that sounds funny and all because I'm only 24, but part of me wonders if we should of started ttc maybe a year or so sooner. I know that's all in the past and I'm just looking forward to the present and future with my wonderful hubby, but what do you think... Should having PCOS encourage trying for a baby sooner than later? Did anyone who had been diagnosed as a teen feel this way?

  1. i knew i had pcos since i was 14 years old.took medication since then,as u know that birth control pills r the only medesion for this.now i m 25.been with my husband since i was 17  & i know i made a huge mistake waiting this long in trying to conceive.i knew i had pcos but i didnt give much thought about it when i should have.please dont worry but woman with pcos have more difficulty in trying to conceive.its not impossible but just a little difficult.as a fellow sufferer of pcos it is my heartfelt advice to u that immidiately find out the best fertility clinic in ur city & start trying with their help.it takes time for us even with medication so starting as early as u can its the best thing for u.there is also a great advantage if u have a baby now.all the symptoms of pcos fade a lot once u have a baby.becz the system becomes a lot normal after that.so please dont think or delay at all like i did.with our problem sooner is the best.pls feel free to contact me for any information sisnce i m already going through the fertility treatment.

  2. What is PCOS?

  3. I have pcos and im 25 been with boyf since i was 17.I think that its definetaly someting to consider sooner i started metformin in january this year and woul suggest starting that soon if your re recomends it.

Ive had hsg to check fallopian tubes that reveale one blockage not good along with pcos however recently underwent a laparoscopy and dye for extra investigation and that revealed in fact NOblockage.

So really pleased.Dr suggesting iui for us.

Overall id suggest starting treatments soon as for one metformin takes around 3 months to get in your system and waiting lists at hospitals can be long

    Goodluck with your decision.

  4. I did wonder if i shouldn't have bothered spending my teens practicing safe s*x once i found out i had fertility issues lol

However I believe you should try when you feel ready for a child - weather you have any underlying conditions or not! They are a huge responsibility and when your time comes to concieve - it will come, when its time and not before!!!

    Good luck!
