  1. The plastic doesn't cause "global warming".  The plastic is used instead of wax to keep the product fresh.

I rather peal the plastic off of my food than eat industrial food grade wax.

  2. depends what your using it for.

  3. It is a very good idea!  You always want to have a safe salad.

  4. No it is a waste. If cleaning it is an issue simply wash it at home.  If keeping it fresh is an issue the store can use a transparent tarp. There is always a better way.

The issue is not so much how, as just a bit of thinking will give us the answers with many of them having already been around for a quite a long time. The true issue is are the people informed and more importantly, do they even care.

  5. Waxes keep some fruits and vegetables fresher, and the fresher the better for saving our lives...don't know if there are waxes we want to eat, though. (Note: plant foods' skins are highest in beneficial phytochemicals)

Plastic production contributes to global warming. Burning it probably also creates particulates, which creates more problems. (Much garbage is burned.) But also, most plastics don't biodegrade, so they're eaten and breathed by animals, and damage animal populations and kill the ocean.

Some plastics also have chemicals that mimic hormones, others have carcinogens. I believe this is thought to contribute to cancer, among other things.

We need alternatives to plastic. For example, design food storage that doesn't require plastic. I.e. glass and metal, controlled humidity etc. Also use compostable "plastics."

But maybe should we make an exception just for cucumbers...how about only if you eat the plastic packaging...

  6. What about condoms?  Surely they cause global warming.

  7. It's Best To Leave It Completely Uncovered But wipe It Before Consuming.

However, The End Will Start To Dry Out So be Sure To Thinly Slice The End Off Before Making A Sandwich etc.
