Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this.

With regard to a lint-free cleaning cloth (such as the kind that comes with a pair of glasses) that one would use to clean a dirty DVD disc, computer or TV screen, or surface of an electronic, should you first use soap to clean the cloth and make sure that it isn't dirty before using it to clean a disc or anything else?

Or should you only use water to clean the cloth? I guess what I'm asking it, is it detrimental in any way with respect to the disc or electronic you would use to clean it to use soap to clean the cloth first before using it?

  1. If the cloth appears clean, no dust or doesn't feel greasy, then you may just wet it with water. If its dirty, presoak the cloth with soap and water and rinse thoroughly before using.

I use the small piece of cloth, i think it microfiber type and instead of those cleaning liquids, I use water-vinegar mixture..then wipe dry with another clean cloth(dry).
