  1. I'm not sure it matters which one you use. I use cold water though.

  2. To me that just sound wierd. Lol. But hey do what you want it's a free country!

  3. Doesn't matter which you use, it will take about the same amount of time to freeze.

The water temperature will not effect the outcome because the physics of freezing partain to the ability to loss BTU's. The loss of BTU's in a freezer compartment is going to be rapid whether the water temp is 180 or 80. they will shed the BTU's more quickly from the high temp, but when they reach a point just above freezing it will be at about the same time. From that point the water will take the same amount of time to loss those last fraction of a degree.

  4. yes that way the ice will freeze even faster and harder.

  5. Believe it or not... scalding hot water freezes faster than cold water. In the freezer, with cold water, ice crystals form and float to the top, forming a sheet of ice over the top of the water, creating an insulating layer between the cooler air and the water. This ice sheet also stops evaporation. In the hot water that has become supercooled (thus, no longer hot) the water, when it does freeze, freezes throughout, creating more or less of a slush before freezing solid.

Also, hot water causes ice cubes to break apart when you twist your ice cube tray. I also recommend to people that to make instant crushed ice, just freeze scalding hot water.

If you're looking to make solid cubes, freeze cold water.

If you're looking to make ice suitable for blending drinks, freeze scalding hot water.

  6. Yes. Warm water has fewer air bubbles to it than cold water. (The reason beigng that all the air expands and rises to the surface) This lack of bubbles makes the ice form harder and faster. Hope this helped!

  7. they say that warm water freezez faster but I have not noticed any difference between cold or warm.

  8. i think you would use cold water so it freezes faster

  9. Jakarta Worker is right....my friends and I did the same test...how weird is that!  Also.....hot water freezes clearer and cold water makes a cloudier ice cube.  This was also a result of my testing.

  10. i t hink you should use cold in my opinion b/c cold is already cold and wen it hits the freezer it'll freeze more quickly.  like bioling water in a pot, if you put warm water in it,it'll boil fast :P good luck!
