Should you wash your rice before you eat it?

before you cook your rice should you wash out all the white powder?

No because that helps it cook.

I am chinese, and YES! Wash the rice! You don't have to wash out all the white powder, just give it a few twirls, throw out the water, put more water in, twirls, and throw out the water, that's really all I do and I eat rice everyday.

i've always done it.  It's not only washing it, but it is washing away the starch that is in the rice.  Not really sure why I do it, but Simply Ming on PBS recommends it also, so I still do it.

Believe it or not, washing your rice will lose some of its nutrients and vitamins. Just give it a quick rinse!
