Hi

What can I do to develop the parts of the deltoid directly responsible for pitching / tennis serves?

I dislocated my shoulder throwing a while back, and seem to have lost a lot of strength

  1. its not just your deltoids that come into play. its a little bit of your biceps and triceps. and alot of your lats and core.

train like how boxers train with resistance tubes. i'm sure you can find a video online but basically its hold the resistance tube and punch repeatedly. the added resistance develops the muscle required for pitching.

also if you could get a medicine ball and throw it as hard as you can against the wall again and again it'll develop the pitching muscles.

    (*also a boxing trainign method)

remember its not just your deltoids its also alot on your lats and your core. you have to learn how to swivel your hips and stuff too.

    goodluck

  3. I have played baseball for almost 20 years and had a shoulder reconstruction 2006.

Go to your local physio and ask for rubbers. Start on a green rubber.

    Red and then blue.

They will give you the exercises you have to do.

Simming is not a good idea, Bench press fly, lat pull downs behind your head too.

Medicine ball! Where did you pick that up genius!

Heavy weights and especially medicine balls! Do not believe that turkey!
