Question:

Shoulder pain during aerobics exercises. Why?

Recently I've begun working out and doing aerobics regularly after over 2 years of "taking a break", so to speak. Whenever I am doing aerobics exercises and my heart really gets going, I get a sharp pain in the front part of my right shoulder. It's very uncomfortable, and throbs with my heartbeat. As my heart rate slows, the pain subsides and I am not bothered until the next session.

I am a young male, only 23 years old, with no previous medical problems. I have been a smoker and am in the process of quitting. I'm not really concerned that this pain is something serious, but it is very inconvienient as it interferes with my exercise.

  1. This pain can be as a result of your body trying to get readjusted to trying to exercise again (an example only).

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
