Question:

Shoulder pain from car crash?

I rolled my car in May of 2007. I went to ER and to my family doctor with shoulder pain. They said it was a tissue tear. They gave me a sling to wear until pain lessened. I wore sling for about a month. Since then I have suffered intermitten pain in my left should on the top and upper rear side of joint. The pain isn't unbearable but it does require advil while in positions such as driving, typing at desk, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can ease the pain and/or prevent it?

  1. Cold pack first, then apply heat for pain, preventing pain would probably consist of not using your left arm as much.  You could try physical therapy too.

  2. You might try getting some of those new heat patches they make and wear them during some activities that cause the pain. Advil is the best thing for pain though. It wouldn't hurt to visit the doc again. It could be something as mild as Bursitis, but you could have a rotator cuff injury. It wouldn't hurt to have an MRI done either. X-Ray's only see bone. MRI's can see almost everything else.

  3. Ask a professional! People on Yahoo! are noobs =P
