Question:

Shouldn't Ganguly be named as "The Wall" instead of Dravid after his heroics in Kanpur and Chennai?

When under pressure Ganguly speaks with his bat and sails India to a comfort zone and still he is a good player, not great. Isn't this unfortunate ?

  1. why,instead of Dravid?

Both can be named "The Wall"

  2. Truly a good question. Ganguly truly has become a 'wall' eversince he has returned. As per the present form of dravid he cannot be called as the wall but it has been a hard earned name for him. as of today ganguly is the wall of india and hopefully of the kolkatta knight riders

  3. you are right ...

  4. Well dear... Ganguly is a modern great but not in the 5 day format, Aussie tour of India 2004 stands testimony, 2006 India's tour of West Indies 3rd test ... a career of 10 years still 6*** runs, not consistent enough if you want to be called a great. And till eternity only test cricket is the true judge of a players calibre.

  5. Oh Yes and we owe this series levelling to him. And what a come back from a person who was put out of the team in such a way.

  6. I think U dont watch cricket all time. Dravid's record earned the name "The Wall". you cant judge him only by performences in just 2 games. Dravid- 120 matches-10000+ runs. Ganguly-106 matches-7700 runs. Still thinking ganguly better than Dravid, THE WALL

  7. agree

  8. yeah ur right

  9. I agree with Ramesh ,

this is such a foolish question

Rahul has remained a wall ever since he started playing , You are asking this performance on the basis of the last 2 tests, why don't you ask a question on the basis of the last 11 years

  10. Sure.... ganguly is My Favourite player

  11. i think theres more than one wall in the Indian team  lol

so yes i think Ganguly makes a lovely wall with his bat

    .

  12. nope he is a DADA not a wall, the wall only can dravid, although ganguly is my favourite player and he played very good inings and shut the mouth of selectors who said he is lazy, he isnt good, now they can check which young player did well in this series with the bat ?

  13. Dravid maintained for years as a wall

    simly foolish question

  14. Hei Friend...Is there any need to name persons as "The Wall" or "God".Wether their abilities goin to increase by naming.Nothing like that.

    Look Ganguly as Ganguly.Enough.

  15. Though I'm a really big fan of Ganguly but Dravid is already nick-named the WALL so it won't be suiting, I like better to call him DADA or the bengal tiger & an inspiring cricketer, Prince of Kolkata, India ki shaan.... The God of oFF Side (This name was given to him by Dravid referring to Ganguly's skill of playing great off side shots)

  16. No.he is The Warrior who has taken the fight to the Springboks.

  17. Both are walls at the two ends of the grease.

Dravid - The Great Wall of China

Ganguly - The Great Wall of Chinese taipei

  18. Has this observation come on the basis of the last game??lol,i'm dying of laughter here and feeling very irritated as well..dude,Ganguly is Ganguly and Dravid is Dravid..There's nobody like Dravid...He ALONE merits the tag of "The Wall",not every single player who sticks out in the middle once in a bluemoon...Ganguly has never been known to be a reliable player, consistent player or a player who would close the doors of defeat for the team.True,he is a good player but his style of batting isn't what you are talking about...There have been so many players who have pulled India from the jaws of defeat, would you call each of them "The Wall"?He isn't a great player as far as test cricket is concerned...yeah,give me tdowns, but that's a fact..

Dravid has proved it from time to time that he deserves the tag...He has bailed us out of trouble so many times and we've just lost one test in which Dravid has scored a century,we've either drawn the rest or won them....That's what a wall does..

I'm very sorry to say but Ganguly can't be called "The Wall"If he can be called so,then everyone sitting in the Indian dressing room deserves the tag too....Try to understand that there's nobody like Dravid and nobody like Ganguly...they are two different players

  19. Absolutely No. he is one of the best attacking player, dont compare to dravid

  20. yes Ganguly should be named as "The Wall" instead of Dravid ~

  21. no--he is a good player on tle whole.

  22. Friend, often we are fond of "hero" worship. Let Ganguly be  Ganguly and Dravid Dravid. Your very question shows your preference to Ganguly as "the Wall." Admittedly Ganguly is back into form in recent days yet the consistency both in his batting and fielding matters. Salute to Ganguly!

  23. absolutely
