Shouldn't NJ be awarded either the Giants or Jets? ?

Question

Being as they both play in E. Rutherford New Jersey, don't you think that one of the franchises should honor them with one of those teams? They are the only teams in the NFL to share a stadium and they're in arguably the biggest market for sports in America. I never understood how they could be called the New York Giants OR Jets and not have a stadium in New York. I know Dallas doesn't play in Dallas, but at least it's still in the same state.They used to play in the Polo Grounds way back in the day, then the Giants played in Yankee Stadium and the Jets in Shea, but BOTH decided to move out of NY entirely. Besides, NJ has every major sport besides baseball, they have Rutgers which is a great football college, and they DO play in New Jersey. I live in Rhode Island so it really doesn't make a difference to me (plus I'm an Eagles fan), but I just think it's disrespectful to New Jersey to allow not one, but TWO teams to play in your state and not have at least ONE of them be named after your state. Cheap @$$ owners if you ask me. They won't even build another stadium in NY although they'll CERTAINLY take the money. No major team that play the same sport should be in the same building. That goes for the Lakers and Clippers too. What are your opinions?

They both use New York because they play in the New York City metro area.  It has nothing to do with the state.  A lot of teams have moved to the suburbs where they can buy large amounts of land required for their stadiums.  The Redskins don't play in DC but Virginia but I don't hear people saying that we should rename that team.

They are always going to go with the name of the closest big market.  That is NY and not NJ.  The Bears had talked about moving their team from Chicago, IL to Gary, IN.  And you know they would have still called them the Chicago Bears.  Plus think of how the names would sound:

The Jersey Giants - that's the name of a breed of chicken

The Jersey Jets - sounds like a cheerleading squad instead of a football team

You are 100% correct I am from NJ and I have been going to games way back when the Giants were at Yankee and Jets at Shea. Yes I was to young to remember the games but I was there. It makes it even more hurtful when NY City turned down building a stadium for the Jets and well the Giants were building a new one and said they can share if they split the costs and well lets see the new stadium will be completed in 2010 and they both will play there for over the next 30+ years. You would think that one would be called the NJ Giants or the NJ Jets. Not to mention they both moved the Training camps to NJ out of NY. The Jets are in Florham Park and the Giants will be in East Rutherford. And now they are charging PSL for seats.
