Shouldn't Senator Obama be for a ban on abortion?

He has said that he is not sure when life begins. So wouldn't it be better to be safe than sorry? Which is more important innocent human life or a person being able to reverse a decision they made a few weeks earlier?

  1. No.

  2. Maybe,

God will judge us all in the end 40 Million Babbies slaughtered in the past 40 years

  3. No. I don't think there should be a ban on abortion. If someone got raped and pregnant do you really think they would want to ruin their lives by having a baby at a young age? I think not.

  4. He says he isn't sure when life begins, that's true. He also says he can't make such a personal decision for someone.  He's right.

  5. Well, considering that over 400,000 black babies alone usually die per year via this violent form of murder (number one killer of blacks), you would think that he would be more educated about the topic.  Even science states when human life begins (dna cells are of humans, not some mutated animal).  Heck, when most women find out they're pregnant, the baby's heart is already beating.

  6. he's being trained to be a good democrat

hedge on all his answers regarding the life of a defenseless unborn baby

and when the abortion is performed and botched and the baby is

alive    - just throw it away

like you would the trash -     thats what he cant make his mind up about

    talk about Mr Safe

    talk about spineless

  7. Maybe he's logical enough to realize that abortions will happen whether its legal or not, but if its legal they will be performed safely by doctors instead of dangerous back alley abortions.

  8. Abortion is not about reversing decisions it's about the right to your own body.  Say i was raped, I shouldn't be punished with a parasitical fetus that was someone else's mistake.

Maybe if there were a lot more institutions to help out mothers it would be feasable.  But you can't just care about the rights of fetuses, what is going to happen when all of those children are born?  Most pro-lifers are anti welfare and government health care.. is it better to make them be born just to die in a few months from lack of sufficient care?

Honestly, even if abortion was illegal people would do it anyways (just like when it was illegal before.)  Making Abortion illegal would not help the problem and would have greater risk to the health of individuals.

  9. "Most Americans support basic abortion rights, but primarily in the earliest stages of pregnancy. This works out well because 95% of abortions occur in the first 15 weeks and 99% in the first 20 weeks. Abortion opponents focus on the few abortions that occur after 20 weeks and gain a lot of rhetorical traction from the fact that Roe protects such abortions. It is thus argued that 99% of abortions are threatened by opposition to 1% and this is bad for abortion rights supporters."

can we ever close the book on this issue?? let the woman decide.

  10. errr, no. think ahead please!

  11. He's not sure and he's not willing to impose his lack of clarity on another  person.  Seems fair to me.

  12. i see a lot of people saying 'illegal abortions happened before and they were unsafe, so it should be legal so that the women will get better care."  Ummmm... that's like saying murders should be legal - because then they won't fill up jails and have to go through psychological therapy that the taxpayers pay for.  Dumbest thing I ever heard...

  13. Well, that issue may be above his pay grade but that doesn't seem to stop him any.   Clearly he is perfectly ok voting for things that he is unqualified to determine (his words not mine).   Makes you wonder...

  14. break out the violins, stop beating this issue into the ground, unless you are on the list to adopt an unwanted child

  15. not for abortion at all, but if it's strictly taken care of by a professional doctor, it should be done that way, and not just by home remedies or in the dumpster.

  16. Who cares what he does. He will fade away after he loses the election and continue his absentee role as a senator.

  17. no do you want a ton of homeless kids running around america?

  18. He doesn't want to ban abortion because he's a Democrat, and Democrats usually put personal rights ahead of moral/religious obligations.
