Shouldn't Wolfowitz resign if he wants to do what's in the best interest of the World Bank?

Even assuming that he's right and that he acted properly in putting together the sweetheart pay package for his squeeze, isn't it clear that he can no longer lead the bank? I think he's going to lever this situation to force the Board to give him an extravagant pay package to leave - and that's really going to suck.

He should, but won't. At the World Bank they will probably let him do as he sees fit. At the White House, people are threatened with being smeared in the press if they dare tell the truth about corrupt officials or administrations so they resign "to spend more time with family". If he'd done this a the White House, it'd have been no big deal becasue that's the way things work there, but there was no one to cover his butt at the Wrold Bank and smear the whistleblower.

Philip-you must be a fan of corruption. Gonzales and Co fired 8-9 prosecutors, one because the guy wouldn't move up a possible indictment against a Dem to before the Nov elections, one because she jailed a Rep Congressman and was on to several top GOP officials for similar corruption issues, the list goes on. Yeah, he should stay. Even Republicans in Congress won't defend him! So this isn't a Republican/Democrat issue. This is also right vs. wrong.

No.  It's not.  They should remain at their jobs and do what they think is right.  If it pisses off Liberals, it must be the right thing.

They should use the standard Hitler treatment for Wolf! Hang him by fish hooks and when he's nearly dead pour gas on his head and light him up! Although this treatment may be far too kind in his case!
