  1. I totally agree with you,it should be judged solely on the individual's ability too bellow out a tune. These show's have turned everything around,I blame Hollywood, the media.and American Idol.

  2. Oh, I saw thi and I wanted him to just shut-up and sing. His sob story made no sense whatsoever and it turns out to be a pile of cr@p anyway. We'll probably not be seeing much more of him in the future.

I know this program is all about gloss and spin, but come on!! And putting that weirdo through just because she's got a crush on Louie? It's just a load of S**t.

(I'm watching now until Strictly Come Dancing starts)

  3. They should, but, alas, it is not a perfect world.

  4. I thought his sob story was cringingly awful. He was hamming it up bigstyle and I suspected it was  a load of old cobblers.

Simon was quoted as saying that the sob stories had to stop. That made me laugh. Simon Cowell controls every aspect of the x-factor. The poor people who are brought in to be laughed at while he rolls his eyes and exclaims "I can´t take any more" . What an actor he is.H nds his team out looking for these people. But now they´ve realised all the tear- jerking is putting viewers off.

Your man was an average singer, but I agree with Viper he was fit.

Could´ve got through on those looks alone.

  5. yes it should, like already said, what or where he comes from has nothing to do with it,so i will agree there, its his ability, not his life story, some one has thrown a spanner in the works,

  6. Yes it should be what a pathetic lie it was obvious he would be caught out. It is also not very nice for those of us who were in foster care and don't harp on about it.

  7. This "show" is degenerating into a farce with contestants always trying to snow the judges. Perhaps it is time to bring down the curtain once this current run is finished, I think the public are getting a bit fed up with it.

  8. He didn't need a sob story, he could win a singing competition on looks alone.

    Have you seen him? HOT!!!

  9. You have to remember that X Factor isn't about talent. It's about viewing figures. It all boils down to what makes good TV.

  10. not any more its not , looks and youth matter a great deal as well

    sob stories get people noticed

  11. Yes it should. And if I tell you that I have been in foster care since the age of 4 will you give me best answer?

  13. i know, its ridiculous

  14. Ideally that's what a singing competition should be, but that isn't how it works, either on TV or with record sales.

Both TV viewing figures and record sales are driven by personality and publicity which is why TV shows put together background stories for contestants, to make the public relate to them and want to support them more.

If it were just about singing, nothing else, then X Factor would get a LOT fewer viewers than it does.

  15. Isn't this the bloke that said at the end of his story "I don't want you to feel sorry for me?" Bloomin' cheek, that's obviously exactly what he wanted or he wouldn't have made up a load of codswallop!

Yes I agree the contestants in these programmes should rely on talent alone. The sob stories, whether they are true or false, with always give them an unfair advantage over others because so many people are influenced by that kind of thing.
