Question:

Shouldn't it be all about the face?

Not all women with a beautiful face are considered beautiful, because of being fat or being too short or tall or pimply. Shouldn't we separate the different aspects: like okay her face is beautiful, weight is mwah, not so good (for example obesity is life threatening), and lenght speaks for itself.

The question is a bit weird, but it's seems unfair to me that people dismiss others as ugly, when in fact the women has a more beautiful face than a successful actress or model (like Gisele Bundchen has a regular face, not a beautiful face...)

  1. I think it has to do with your environment.. im skinny and i look better than my friends.. but i dont get as much play as them because they are thick.. Im black (well actually mixed).. and with the people im around, being skinny is NOT good.. i wish i could gain about 10 pounds.. Around here.. a girl who has big thighs, hips, and butt, and average face, will get WAY more attention than a very pretty face, and skinny body.

But to fully answer your question, i think that the full package is what matters to most people at the end of the day, For example: Say you were interested in a guy who has a cute face but horrible body and you were talking about him.. then a friend got curious and asked "is he hot?" If youre not attracted to his body type.. you wouldnt reply with yes. because as a whole, youre not attracted to him. you'd probably say "well..... he has a nice face.. but his body is not nice" so overall.. hes not hot, and his horrible body takes away somewhat from his face.. its a little like math.. hot face + horrible body = alright overall.  I hope that makes sense.. kind of hard to explain.

Edited to add: YOU wouldnt care about the body, but the average person does.. Especially if you are a female.. guys care ALOT about a girls body. Females have to be darn near perfect these days.

  2. Sure, it's unfair...that is how the world is though..beauty is EVERYTHING!  That is why plastic surgeries are up, the cosmetics industry is up.  I really believe this stems from the access to 24 hour a day TV and PC--young people see these beautiful people 24/7--do they know these celebrities are air-brushed, have trainers, dieticians, made to look longer and leaner by computer imaging..Come on! Our education system is no longer even in the top 10--we are too interested in how fat B. Spears is .  I saw an ad for the new Meg Ryan movie and was completely disgusted--she has obviously had plastic surgery...how sad...why can't people just grow old gracefully?  I also think the loss of faith in ANYTHING but the almighty dollar has made people afraid to die, so they think if they LOOK young, they actually ARE young...I know I have completely not answered your Q, thanks for letting me vent.

  3. Well the problem is that what you and I consider beautiful, the third person does not. Beauty is very subjective. And in a way it reflects a persons own desires.

Also, think about it. If you were asked to define beauty, you would say perfect features. But if asked to be more specific, it is very difficult. One can say someone who is pleasing to the eyes, or a beautiful person is someone you can keep looking at. So dont you think a good body def. helps? but thats not all that matters... nobody in their right mind says paris hilton is beautiful!

  4. Well, the say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And yes, there are tons of beautiful women out there with full figures, and you know what, I've learned that a real woman needs a real man, and apparently there aren't enough real men to go around in this world.

  5. i do agree but in the end it comes down to the whole package and if you are obese and extremely beautiful you are probably going to be considered average but if you are skinny and not quite so beautiful you are considered model material and thats just the way it is.

  6. Yes I understand.

im not skinny.. but im not saying im pretty. the skinny (not all pretty) girls at my school get alot of attention.

I dont really care for attention.. just trying to graduate..

    answer plz?

  7. no. not at all. beauty is not and should not be about the face. it should be about the person and what drags other people towards them. what youre saying is basically substituting it with a body part. might just as well be an ***. body part also, isnt it? no beauty is not all about the face.
