Shouldn't men wear speedos on the beach volleyball court?

People say women wear bikinis because that is the least restrictive attire. For men, speedos would be the least restictive would it not?

Yeah, that would restrict their leg movement when they run to hit the ball and it would be less weight for the to carry when they jump up to spike the ball.

Yes, but  it's all about image! Then again, I'm sure Speedos would ride up.

Well, it would probably help them, because it would be less likely to touch the net. But they have been trained to not touch the net and have practiced blocking and hitting with out touching the net in t-shirts and shorts.

But I wouldn't watch mens beach volleyball if they did wear that.

Do you really want to see a bunch of guys wandering around in speedos? People may say women wear bikinis because they're the least restrictive, but come on how would a one piece restrict movement? Most women that wear bikinis to play volleyball wear them to get looked at.

IMO yes, skin irritation is the main reason for this. Cloth rubbing on the sand that sticks to the skin irritates it during gameplay. Its best to have as little clothing on as possible.
