  1. Yes. Same crime, same punishment right!

  2. No, because they aren't adults yet.

  3. I think that in serious crime cases they should be. I have heard so many teenagers say that they don't mind commiting crimes because they know they will only stay in until they are 18. I think that kids look at their youth as a get out of jail free card.

  4. It depends. I mean, there was a 7 year old that was charged with life for murder of one of those gas station store working guys. He had a partner, and he admitted to being on the crime scene, but the other kid didn't. The kid who lied didn't get life. The 7 year old didn't even kill the guy himself. You call that fair? Sometimes, they are charged as adults depending on the crime. Any sexual crime at least should be charged the same though. And brutal murder.

The story is TRUE. This took place a while ago though. The then boy is now in his 30's, but isn't that sad? (I know because my dad is a lawyer.) I'm not sure if he was 7, but he was between 6 and 12, and his partner was a bit older than him, but still under 12.

  5. depend on what crime....

  6. um no your wrong,

    they should have lighter sentences!

unless it's murder, then they should get the max amount of time...

  7. Depends cause if they want to do adult things they should be pnished like adults, and on a daily basis they say the wanna be treated like adult so... there ya go!!*

  8. It depends.  There are so many variables to a question of law in this case.  One of the criteria adopted by most  states is the mental/emotional state of the person committing the crime.  A person of lower IQ or one with a mental disorder that prevents them from being able to judge right from wrong, they can not be held accountable.  Otherwise, the severity of the crime itself, along with any relevant history of prior behavior, will be the determining factors.

  9. Teenagers r capable of doing almost everything adults r. If the govt. cuts them slack now, they will think its alright and do wutever they want to.

if a teenager can murder, demolish, rape, kidnap, and break the laws just as well as an adult, they can pay the price just as well as an adult.

  10. Yes, this is why people are getting out of jail and re-comitting crime.

  11. I think so, but it also depends on what crime.

  12. Yes, conscious choices, to do or not to do, when the choice is made to comment a serious crime, the punishment should be appropriate, if an adult criminal is what a teenager wants to be, then, he/she should be convicted as an adult criminal.   Choices, conscious choices, human beings are the only mammal/animal afforded this privilege and it should be utilized wisely.  God Bless.

  13. it depends on their age..some teens are tried as an adult because of there age..But if they are tried as an adult they go to an adult Jail and they should not be in an adult prison.

  14. i agree with jessie lynn!

  15. yes, to a certain degree, and only pertaining to serious crimes.......im so sick of kids getting away with nonsense because "daddy didnt hug them enough".....and all they do is go to juvenile detention center . . . .and then commit the same crimes once they turn 18......sad
