I know its not their fault but it is their fault to choose something that uses so much gas, and because of so many people buying them they are raising taxes on gas and prices to record highs. now wouldn't a mini van or a sedan do the same thing. as a SUV, just no mudding.

alot of people are blaming the SUV drivers.

  1. NO.

Greed and Need  are the culprits along with a weak dollar.

Before you blame the oil companies you might want to exam ine your 401 k investments. How many of us want them to go up and how many of them are invested in oil?  How many of those that blame Bush or big oil have changed their driving habits. Guess what I am trying to say is we are all in this together and we have to find solutions together rather than playing the blame game

  2. It wouldn't be because the dollar has lost alot its value and the stock market is not so good and people are putting money in to commodities and driving the price of oil up.

  3. there is no reason to blame an suv driver

    that makes absolutly no sense.

yes they spend more, but it isnt there

    fault its more expensive.

its just there fault they drive that

    and choose to spend it

  4. maybe if you are too insipid to actually know how the economy works- then sure, blame the SUV driver.

  5. Everybody that does something to increase demand for oil and gas  share the blame.   SUV are an important part, but so is the number of new people buying cars in India and China.  IF we all do our best to buy the smallest cars that meet our needs, we can all help, and share in the solution.

  6. people who blame suv's for the gas prices need to get there head out of there ***...

  7. The fact is that Americans pay very little for gas compared to the Europeans.

Part of the reason is that fuel taxes in the United States are dedicated to roads and highways. Other countries use fuel taxes for other purposes and for general revenue.

Depending upon the state in which you live, you pay somewhere between about 26 and 63 cents per gallon in taxes. Our soon to be $4 per gallon really isn't much when you consider that Europeans were paying $7 per gallon in 2005!

It isn't a supply and demand problem either. We have enough fuel right now and if we were to gasify coal we would have more.

So what is the problem? It's the perception that we will run out of oil. It is speculation that China and India will be large consumers therefore demand will increase and higher prices are justified.

The fact is that if we continue to use oil or other fossil fuels, we'll warm the planet to the point that methane, sequestered by cold ocean and lake waters will be released and help to  poison the air beyond tolerance before we run out of fuel.

So instead of worrying about your wallet or blaming anyone for high prices, think about how to stop using the stuff.

High prices won't matter even a little if you can't breathe.

  8. yes they should~

  9. Maybe they shouldn't be blamed for High Gas prices but for Global Warming. If they want to pay at the pump let them gas guzzle but their high emissions make everyone pay.

  10. They are a little to blame it started the high demand for gas...

Put lets put the blame also on Bush for part with the dollar is at the lowest level in 40 years... Then China and India for needing so much more...  Then we can worry because Russia reporting wells are drying up... So how what?

  11. no becuse all over the world the gas prises are going up

  12. No. Gas prices are not high because of a gas shortage.

You people obviously have no interest in the truth.  Thinking Bush is responsible for the price of gas is laughable, but I digress.

  13. I dont think you have any idea what your talking about.....

  14. No they should be smacked in the face for making a bad decision.  We should be blaming OPEC and the government.

  15. no

    I don't blame them

I blame everyone for using up all our resources

and I don't think this is the reasoning for high gas prices anyway

gas prices keep rising because the economy is really bad right now

even the government is at a rate of being poor

  16. No, their consuming more than other people.  Just think if everyone drove a hybrid how high gas companies would make their prices to make up the differance

  17. No, blame the president of the united states!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... OIL MONEY!!!!

  18. Gas used to be less then a dollar.. its around 3.50 now. I dont blame anyone but george bush. the only reason we went to iraq was for oil, and it backfired. Gas companies also are to blame because they wont spend 50k to turn their gas stations into ethanol stations, which is made of corn and very cheap. If gas companies did that, no more problems.

  19. it has to do with supply and demand....but moreso, it has to do with the price of crude oil. In 2004 we saw a price increase because of the amount of hurricanes in that year. Hurricane Katrina (and the price of crude oil) cause an increase in the gas prices in 2005.

  20. ok

  21. even if everyone drove energy efficent vehicles, gas prices would still be high. it's too late to undo what has already been done, so there's really no point in "blaming" anyone.

oil is a nonrenewable resource, and eventually it would run out anyways. if you live in america, then obviosly you've noticed rapid increasing gas prices...but in reality, we haven't even cought up to most countries, espcially europe!

    so yeah...

  22. why should people blame SUV drivers for high gas prices? Gas prices are high because of Bush.

  23. is not about how big the car is about how many miles they use every day and how many times they buy gas hopefully in the year of 2060 they own need gas

  24. Shouldn't you change your thinking to "Shouldn't people who drive vehicles with large engines be blamed for high gas prices"?

I drive an SUV and I get 28mpg. That's better than most cars with V8 engines. Why did I get an SUV? Because I was getting sick of getting stuck in the mud while driving down the road to get home from work. 4x4 and high clearance is definately required.

But there are two things to blame: High oil prices and weak American dollar. It's that plain.

  25. The only SUV that is worth the money is a

    Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

10mpg but call blow any mother away.
