Shouldn't there be modifications to the chase?

okay all fans know about the chase of course. my opinon is when the chase starts to take all of the cars off of the track that didnt make the chase, cause all their doing is slowing the other guys down. one guy told me today well thats not fair to the other guys who has worked their asses off. well i told him thats the point in the regular season. i know my word doesnt matter to nascar but hey what the heck. what do you think should they be taken off ?

It would be a really boring race watching 12 guys on the track and then you would complain about how boring the race was heres a novel idea "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

okey-dokey. but they can only run dirt short tracks like eldora and the bullring.

$$$. Who's going to call up Red Bull and the other 30 sponsors and tell them that there TV time is over to bring you the same 12 car's for the next 2.5 months. Not to mention all the employees of 31 racing teams.

Plus 12 cars in a Nascar race sounds extremely boring.

What if they have "the big one" at talledega on the 3rd lap and 8 cars are wiped out?

No.  it wouldn't be fair.  The guys not in the chase are still racing. It not a point thing anymore but a $$$ thing to them...plus they want a win.

And what good would a race be with 12 cars??? Think about that.

it would be a terribly boring 10 races.

Also, you need to think of the financial repercussions.  NASCAR couldn't fill the stands with only 12 drivers out there.

I understand  what you are saying. It just is not feasable.

I think modifications are needed. Just not the one you suggested.

For instance the regular season champ needs to be rewarded somehow. I am old school and against the chase. This is racing not football.
