The only country that goes abroad and ruins local towns for the summer?

And before jumping on the bandwagon of 'It's their fault for selling cheap alcohol' why don't people take responsibility for their actions when they are drinking.

  1. When I go to France I never say im British. But I do say I'm Scottish as the French love the Scots.

  2. My daughter has just gone to Zante with her boyfriend this morning.I'm worried sick already.

The reputation of the British goes before we land out there.

The alcohol is pennies,i agree. If they want to sort this out then things have to be done about this. But they won't,it keeps the countries economy afloat.

They can't have it both ways,no good them complaining, when they themselves are the root of the problem.

  3. its alright them moaning, its them who sell the cheap booze all night long and happy hours included to the british  what the h**l do they expect?

its their own doing trying to get more money

i do not drink or smoke

  4. its the old colonial hangover of thinking we own the world

    not good is it

Last month, Matthew Cryer, 17, from Killamarsh, Sheffield, collapsed outside a nightclub in Laganas, Zakynthos, and later died, following a night out with friends.

gosh.  what a tragic waste of life

  5. No

i went to Malia a few weeks ago and the greeks serve them and give them free drinks when they can hardly walk

not only British kids were there all nationalities behaved like this

malia is advertised and caters for this , they welcome the revenue and so do british tour operators

i saw cage fighting , mopeds given to drunk kids and free beer given out

the place is a hovel and i was ashamed to be in  a country that promotes and encourages this type of behavior

i saw no police presence just Euros being handed over from immature incorrigible silly teenagers

some of the appartments were so bad they were given no star rating ,the cost is very low ,  i was glad to go home

  6. It's their own fault for selling cheap Alcohol.

  7. Oh shut up!!! These towns are totally responsible. They make their money from the kids getting drunk and spending money.

It's not true that it's just the brits that cause trouble, it's the brits that get the blame. If you go over there you can see

Also you sound like an old jealous woman who has lost her youth and wants to make it c**p for the youth of today!

P.S. Just saw your 'additional details' and, in response, i think you are too old to have a relevant opinion on this matter.

  8. you know wot, i see it all the time, 'imature idiots' giving the brits a bad name, wherever they go.

i think its part of the YOB culture thats infecting the state. you dont need to go abroad just go to any city or town on a friday or saturday and i GUARANTEE there'll be some sort of p1ss head smashing someones face in or wrecking private property

  9. the bristish r f*&king a******s with drink, they dont know how to behave while aboard they make a show of their race but i dont care cos im not one of them

  10. Yes I agree, we are an embarrassment, these idiots are probably the same people who behave anti sociably over here. They just don't care and have no shame or self respect!

  11. This is what happens when drinks are so expensive in Britain so when the youngsters go abroad the drinks are far cheaper and its then they drink too much and cause trouble. Example a bottle of Becks in the UK is around £2 plus a bottle  Here in Bulgaria its about 50p Slight difference. Our government must be raking it in with all that tax.

  12. The rules of civilization demand that one observe the rules of the land in which one lives or visits, just as one would follow the rules of the house and be respectful of the host, if one were a guest in someone's house.  Availability of cheap wine, drugs , etc. has nothing to do with it.  One must learn self-control.  If one is too immature to exercise self-control, than one should surrender one's passport.  Such people have not business leaving the country and  creating havoc in someone else's 'home'.

  13. Yes....I've just returned from our village where we all have just had the biggest paella you've ever seen..It's fed fron one pan the entire village of just over 500 people and beer was flowing anis candella and everything else, guess what! NO Brits SPOILING Things!! how amazing is that?.lol.....

  14. thats exactly the reason why i wouldnt be seen dead at any of these places, if someone offered me a free holiday i'd turn them down and stop at home, this sort of thing makes me ashamed to be british on holiday, i end up having to apologies everytime we went somewhere in europe for my fellow brits loutish behaviour, now we holiday on the other side of the atlantic, less brits = less trouble, i'm sorry to say. x

  15. I know were awfull! but its just the chavs that are to blame

    x

  16. Well Yes ~ I've been to both those resorts mentioned (not stayed in those resorts though I hasten to add) and the sights you see! But the prices of the fishbowls to drink, make it not worth buying a soft drink, its cheaper to buy locally produced alcohol, than imported soft drinks, Coke and Fanta.

With my kids to buy coke costs more than my glass of wine.

I think the young people just go mad as its cheap, and the feeling that you have to pack everything into your two week holiday.

All the strains of being in UK (stabbings etc) it might be a nice relaxing feeling being away from all that for a couple of weeks.

But yes ~ It does shame me, although I have to admit to being a complete lush when I was in my 20's, and holiday'd with my gang of mates.

  17. Naaahhh!! Virtue is its own punishment!!

  18. We're on holiday, it IS their fault for not locking up the people that are doing it, they let us get away with it so we do it. (not me personally i wouldn't dare).

I think they should put their foot down and arrest and charge those who do this but if they wont then we'll keep doing it.

    Because we can.

  19. It is embarrassing, in fact I've found that as soon as the natives realise you're British they act differently towards you nowadays.

And I'm a 37 year old who doesn't even drink that much!!

  20. My god its all our fault...

Do you really think only the British do this?

We only hear about the British..  I have seen Germans, Italians, Spanish and Eastern Europeans going mental.

AND THE AMERICANS!!! God ha ve you ever seen a group of yanks drinking their p**s poor excuse for a beer?

Again our government and media is conditioning us to feel more and more shame a guilt.

  21. When you live in a society where the Government won't let an NHS study tell the parents of the FAT children that they are obese in case it stigmatises them!!!! PEADOPHILES get lighter sentences than SHOPLIFTERS,everything is always somebody elses fault and anyone ever caught for a crime just says they were beaten by mothers or fathers and had a terrible childhood. You are more entitled to burgle a house than protect it.One night out drinking in a Pub could pay for a weeks drink in a supermarket. It is more profitable to be single with kids than married.

We work the longest hours in europe we pay more for everything than most of europe and about 70p in every pound is direct/stealth tax.

When they get abroad on the well deserved holiday and go mad for a week or fortnight from a country where responsability is as bad a thing as an "ism"WHAT DO WE EXPECT YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW

  22. hahahaha tilt your head in shame

  23. What a load of tosh some of these answers are.  Why shouldn't these places sell cheap alcohol?  No one is forcing people to drink it.

I've been to these type of holiday resorts and yes, the alcohol is amazingly cheap and is usually served in quantity, but I never felt the need to act like that.  I knew my limits and even if I still had loads of money left to spend on booze I didn't.

The people causing havoc abroad are the same people causing havoc on the streets of every town and city across the UK.  I agree with you and people need to learn to take responsibility for their actions, regardless of where they are.

  24. Unless its you or yours causing the trouble, what can you do...?

Its all just a sad reflection of the state of our society at the moment.

  25. I agree totally with Antoinette F. I'm also not one of them so it's not something i ever have to think about and would never associate myself with. Incidently it's most certainly NOT about the fact that our Alcohol is cheaper than in the uk (as i currently live in england at the moment and am aware of the price differences) it most certainly IS about self dicipline! People have to be accountable for their OWN behaviour and stop blaming everyone else.
