I mean voting is not a right its a privilege. If you don't understand economics and government you really shouldn't vote. A test for voters right at the pole before voting have 50 different test so the party's couldn't teach the test ( like the schools teach the CRCT's). Well I bet the democrats would never allow that, it would remove over 3/4 of their voting base. If people knew anything about economics and government kennedy and pelosi would never have gotten elected or reelected. Come on people think!!! change just for change is crazy. If I had a cold and doctor told me I needed change and he could do it if I let him become my doctor and I said ok your my doctor now and he change my cold into cancer, change wouldn't have been good, I should have kept the cold and my old doctor. hind sight is 20 20.

  1. if we did, the GOP would win all elections by landslides

  2. No need to worry.  That's what the electoral college is for.

The delegates do the actual voting, based on the majority of popular votes, and they actually do not HAVE to follow the popular vote, although they always have.

So, don't worry.  We all get to vote, whether we are stupid or not.

And the media makes it pretty hard for anybody to vote for the wrong person.  We always joked about a family member who would vote for a "donkey" if he was running on the Democrat ticket.  Most people are like that.  But it really doesn't matter at this point, and the delegates will make the final decision, to prevent any real outrageous upsets.

  3. In a democracy, voting is a right not a priviledge.

  4. no that is unconstitutional.

  5. You are just so so right.

  6. may be

  7. I sure am glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that a test should be required. I remember watching the exit polls during the Clinton/Bush41 election and was astonished at the number of women that openly admitted they voted for Bill Clinton because he was "good looking"

  8. No.  Because any test reflects the bias of the test creators.  For example, I think I am very intelligent and well educated, but I wouldn't be able to answer many questions about current sports figures because I'm just not interested.

Voting rights are based on citizenship.

  9. If so.... you should be the first one in line asking a DUMB azz question like this.

  10. I saw a study when I was in college about this and if you are a conservative you do not want testing to be part of the election process. In the study liberals on average were much more educated than conservatives.

  11. Reading at Q&A I've thought that many times. However, there used to be litmus tests for voting with the tests written with bias to flunk black people. I believe you'll find it was the Democrats who fought against the practice.

The question of litmus always gets down to who writes the tests. Who could be fair enough? I can only think of two people and Jesus and Mother Theresa are both dead.

  12. I agree with you to a certain degree.  I think that people should utilize enough common sense not to vote on issues that are worded in a way they don't understand.  However, everyone, regardless of race, gender, intelligence level, education level, and income level have the right to vote.  And it IS a right, NOT a privilege.  People are going to vote the way they want to, and there is nothing we can do about it.  We don't live in a dictatorship.

  13. The real question is how you define smart enough. There are people who's academic preformance is lacking, but are completly capable of understanding the topics at hand. Also In your country voting is a right, and personally I believe everybody should vote as politicians are representatives of the people.

  14. I disagree. I think everyone should have the right to vote.

  15. Voting is a right.. and besides that they did this before and it didn't go over so well.

  16. I think you're wrong.  What the neokook fails to understand is that Americans, even conservative ones like me, want an explanation for the past 8 years.  Quite frankly, there isn't one.

  17. What you fail to understand is you happen to live in a country that practise's a little thing called Democracy, which means all, yes even dumb people, have a right to decide the fate of their country.

  18. That would be a kind of elitism NOT democracy.

  19. No ,no test. But I would agree to a mandatory U.S. Government and politics class.

  20. Everyone should have the right to vote.

  21. Your premise is mistaken.  Voting is a right.  Have you forgotten that the president is not elected by the people directly.  We have an Electoral College that actually meets to elect the president.  The popular vote is just one step in the process.

  22. h**l, if bush can be president, and ol' body can.  never mind vote!

  23. Good luck with that.  The Dems have dead people voting!

  24. I know it is very hard to chant drill now, how will we ever learn to do that?

  25. No, and I'm not even going to say why because it's so obvious.

  26. I agree, but some buttwhole would find a way to discriminate

  27. I think that creating a bias on weather or not someone is "smart" enough to vote is a flawed idea. How would you determine who was smarter? Would it be based on political beliefs or an IQ test? Would Democrats be allowed to vote, but not Republicans, or vice versa? Also, if you were to test people on their political/policy knowledge, the answers would always be changing because politicians constantly review their principles so they can get the best vote... if you were out of the loop for a week or so, the testing would become inept. It's an unrealistic proposal.

  28. I am so glad someboby sees things the way I do about a test. you are right the dems would never go for it.

  29. NO.

Apparently, you don't know the history of this country.

They pretty much did this back in the day.  And guess what?

It was very discriminatory.  Voting is a right and a privilege.  And no American citizen should be denied this basic right based on some foolish bias.

  30. No see you got that wrong voting is your right not privilege. Many have died and suffered to make this our right and I'm sick that people do not exercise this right.

The only fair way is to make it so all can vote even if you are retarded.

  31. To see if _they're_ smart enough to vote? Right at the _polling_ site?

And who will do the testing? And what would be the eligibility threshold?

The potential for corruption is too great. It would never work.

As for Democrats being less intelligent than Republicans, I have yet to see a single Republican who posts a coherent sentence in Yahoo! Answers.
