  1. i don't have tall boots but my paddock boots i broke in within 2 days i wore them EVERWHERE in the house, to the store and everything which is kinda gross cuz normally i don't wear shoes in the house

and go up lots of stairs and keep bending those ankles!

  2. The quickest way is to soak them in the bath tub until the are wet through. Then wear them until they dry. Walk around in them, go up and down stairs. Stand in a position similar to sitting on your horse. You can even ride in them when they are wet. DO NOT take them off until they are dry. Once they are completely dry, clean and condition them. You should be good to go. This process also allows them to form to your leg and give a better fit. Good luck!

  3. just keep on riding them, walk around with them in your house, or wear them are bend your ankle, even if your not on a horse.

if theyre not broken in, im not sure if they will be by this weekend. so my advice, get baby powder the day of your show, it helps the hurting

  4. wear them all the time

  5. What i did to break mine in is take push the calf part of the boot and put it down to the foot part and tie a rubber band around them for a night, and when ever you have free time, wear them, even inside.it still might take a while, good luck! hope this helps!!

  6. I was in the same situation about a month back(except the zipper broke three days from the show, then broke again-next pair of boots are custom and are NOT going to have zippers).

I used a boot-stretch spray, ask for it at your tack store and spray it in the inside of your boots. That and condition and oil. Constantly. Twice a day if you need to.

I have heard that some people have literally put a hose in their boots AFTER conditioning, then dried them, conditioned and oiled them and viola, boots nice and broken in with no damage to the leather. Even George Morris has suggested lots of water for darkening and suppling saddles up, so it really can't do much harm. I would be quite liberal with the conditioner and oil though.

  7. One quick way is to get them wet then wear them around.  I used to have to wear mine riding, at home, where ever I could to get them broke in quick.  Do not worry, getting them wet will not ruin the leather, but will help soften it to help them break in.  Good luck at the show.

  8. weear them around the house, ride in them, do squats and lunges in them, a lot of bending. What REALLY helps (i did this with my tall boots), Is use a leather conditioner that is meant to help breaking them in. I used Leather New by Farnam (it works great!), it doesnt leave an oily residue if you buff it out, and it will slightly darken them, but that will go away after a few rides. Then buff them with Leather CPR, it makes the leather, super soft and flexible, and conditions them. Just wear them as much as you can. Also, make sure you pick up some black boot polish =D it will take care of any scrapes or scratches if you fall off or accidently nick them. Boot polish i recommend (Leather CPR, black boot polish). Just keep wearing them, moving in them, riding in them, applying the Leather New, and leather CPR. good luck

    =D

EDIT: To make them drop more, the best way is to just wear them riding, ALOT! stand on the edge of a set of stairs and drop your heels like your riding, do that for like 15mins. Do alot of bending in your lower legs (ankles, heels).

  9. you're not going to ruin them. the more you "break them" the more they'll break in. if they're made of nice leather you're not going to ruin them, believe me. just ride in them as much as you can. walk around in them. take them off and push the toe up so the ankle part breaks in. use oil if you need to.
