  1. Walk the course 3 times. trot the course 3 times, and controlled canter the course 3 times. trot the course 1 time and then walk it one time. and make sure your horse gets it. if you and your horse ate tied together after doing that you wont need to remember colerful flowers means roll back

  2. walk the course, then try to remember what you just done. it doesn't matter if you can't remember it all. get someone to walk it with you and get them to recite it to you then you recite it to them.

you could give it a go!

    hope it helps.

    xo

  3. Make little shapes or fun names for the jumps! Like for example if it's a bending line thats really colorful to a rollback that has flowers or something say to yourself "colorful, flowers"

Then maybe to another roll back "U-turn" ...

use the colors and positions to ur advantage. Good luck!

  4. walk the course a couple of times

  5. Okay study the course and photocopy it loads of times and pin it up on the wall in lots of places. Then if your drying your hair, brushing your teeth (stuck on mirror) etc etc you'll get it stuck through your mind.

Close your eyes and visualise yourself on your horse and riding through the course.  Look at the paper if you get stuck, then do it again.

Look at it the night before, and then watch other riders go through it.

Good luck and I hope I helped! =]

  6. I had the same problem lol! When I'm outside the ring I would look at the course poster and then look at the arena with the jumps. point with your finger and count each jump in the course pattern and repeat. I usually ad a "mary had a little lamb" or "row row row your boat" (or any other catchy song you know) rhythm to it lol. Keep repeating the course/song while looking at each jump until the song is over.I mumble it to myself. It always helps me. I know it may sound weird and sometimes people look at you funny but who cares..atleast im gunna remember my course ! lol

  7. Its always best to walk the course twice.

    Thats how i remember!

  8. The number of the jumps should always be on the left as you come into it.

if you cant see it, you are probably jumping it the wrong way or the persion in charge is not doing their job properly.

as you turn in to jump the fence, the number should be on the left wing of the jump.

  9. Walk the course, and if possible watch other riders do it before you. :)

    Good luck.

  10. Usually a pattern.

  11. Walk the course first. Also think it through in your head, like if you know there's one that you might forget just think to yourself, "yellow after blue" or something like that. Most of the time its obvious which jumps come next but for the difficult ones just think about them before hand.

If all else fails you could ask someone to shout to you whats next, unless its a strict show lol.

  12. well i look at it first thing in the morning.  even before i see my horse.  mayb for like 30 sec.  then i look at it once i'm on my hrse and finally right before i go into the ring.  use names for the jumps, outside line, diagonal white line, etc.  also trace it in the air with your finger and ask someone too quiz you

  13. If possible, walk the course before you go in the ring.  You can also get a pad a paper and draw out the course a couple of times.  Then, in the warm up ring (if possible) pick up the trot and trot out the course's track going into the half seat where each jump is.  Finally, close your eyes and visualize each jump and how you want to ride it.

  14. I usually walk the course and go over it a lot with my trainer at shows.  If you can, try to get in the ring when you can and go for a practice ride around the course.

  15. I name the fences by their color and type.

    For example:

    fence 1: red oxer

    fence 2: yellow vertical

    fences (3a, 3b, 3c): green combo

    etc.

  16. walk the course a few times, and come up with a little song with the order of the jumps.

  17. my classes are later in the day so i get there early and just look at the jumpers corse for about 1/2 a hour then i mumble it to myself and point it out and i have my instituter help me out too and i uslay go last so i watch the people in front of me.
