Show on background check?

When I was younger, I was a bit rebellious and I used to shoplift. It was all little things, like nail polish, but I still did it. Right after I turned 18 I got caught at shoprite taking an eyeliner. They didn't call the cops, but took down all my information and I was contacted by Retail Recovery Service, and I had to pay 150$. I haven't heard anything afterwards, and I stopped and I haven't done it again. I realize how stupid I was and it is the one thing I wish I could take back.

Now I am 21 years old, and I have started to apply for some jobs that require a background check. I am very nervous that will show up. What exactly goes on to a background check and would it be just criminal offenses dealing with police?

Does anybody know for sure?

  1. The for money services are often times going to produce greater data but if you without money, this is a good totally free service.  You can investigation for free and conduct your own background checks http://freebackgroundcheck1.notlong.com

  2. They will check your SSN# ,alias, criminal and civil records, and places you have lived within last seven yrs.

  3. I run background checks in my job and the only thing that comes out are convictions. It does not sound like you have been convicted of anything so I would not worry. If it does come out, the employer has to give you a 1-800 number you can call to clear things up.
